Kid Sayings and Funny Stories to Make you Smile

There are countless times when I laughed so hard from my little one's "isms" that I nearly fell over.  My child sometimes says (quite innocently) some of the greatest and funniest things that I've ever heard.

I also have experienced the warmest and sweetest moments of my life with him.

Of all the stories I can think of about my own little one, this is my favorite:

After getting pulled over by a policeman, my son scolded him as he walked up to the window - "We're TRYING to get to Kansas!" When the policeman walked back to the car to issue my ticket, my son asked me what he was doing. After I informed him he was giving me a ticket, he complained (loudly), "Where's MY ticket?" :)

One of my favorite times as a mother is reading with my little boy. He's become increasingly interested in words and their meanings as time goes on.

I allow him to interject questions and comments about pictures, words, the stories.

Very fun and very rewarding!

Fire & Hoobas. These two words have special meaning in our home...we're not entirely sure what my 3 yr old means by hoobas but it appears to have become a term born out of a combination of the PBS kids show Boobah and the fact that mommy wears a bra. Fire is when daddy lights a match because someone has passed bad gas. Thus mommy wears hoobas and boys wear fire...if you ask my 3 yr old, that is! Be sure to check out my lens for $ saving ideas.

Little kids are not afraid to share their honest opinions! I got my hair cut a couple of weeks ago, after months of neglect. I loved my new 'do, but my six-year old said, "It looks... weird, Mom!" Oh well!

Hi Tonyab,
Love this lens! Both of my boys are funny. But my 21month old is amazingly verbal at so young. Imitating his older three year old brother one day in the car, he says "mommy, bad guys are coming!"

OK, here's another one from my little one. Sometimes when I talk to him on the phone, he says, "Hey mama look at this!" (Funny noises in the background... Some giggles... Sounds like he's jumping up and down.) This is a real laugher. :D

My daughter is a bit over two years old, and will say a few words. But what she gets across non-verbally is just amazing. I have a feeling she'll be very expressive when she starts talking!

My 7 year old son was playing with his four year old sister in her room but it was her bed time so he had to leave her room. He had been sitting in the same position for a long time and was have difficulty getting up. So moaning and growning he exclaims "I feel like I'm 15."
BTW 5 stars!

Hi Tonyab,

My wife and I have a daughter (9 months) and I can't wait for her to start talking. It's amazing how even before they can speak they can communicate...what a blessing :)

About tonyab

My name is Tonya, I'm a work-from-home mom.

My greatest loves are children, freedom, human rights.

I feel strongly about handling children with love, communication, understanding and basic handlings (such as nutrition) rather with other methods that are ineffective and even damaging (such as drugging).

A good sense of humor and lightheartedness works well too.  :)
