Historic Gastown in Vancouver, BC - Poster
A bit of history on Historic Gastown...
Gastown is Vancouver's oldest neighborhood located in the northeast area of downtown. A popular landmark is the world's first steam-powered clock located amongst old historic buildings and cobblestone streets.
These old historic buildings were built in the late 1880s after the Great Fire of Vancouver in 1886. Most of the old buildings have been refurbished over time and are now home to many fashion, professional and tourist businesses. Gastown was officially designated a national historic site in Canada in 2009.

Vancouver First Nation Inukshuk Poster
A bit of History on the Inukshuk stone landmark...
"Ancient symbols of Inuit culture were traditionally used as landmarks and navigation aids. This grey granite statue representing a human form with outstretched arms is a well-known symbol in Canada of northern hospitality and friendship. Constructed originally by Alvin Kanak of Rankin Inlet, this monument was commissioned by the Government of the Northwest Territories for its pavilion at Expo 86, and given to the City of Vancouver." ~Inukshuk Plaque at English Bay
