Portraits need not be nervous, stuffy affairs with pseudo-cloud backgrounds and fixed smiles; they can be thoughtful, enlightening and fun.

They are a chance to discover different aspects of how we can present ourselves to the world, and how we can play with various effects - both before and after the photo is taken - to change and manipulate our appearance.

Whether you want a formal headshot, a magazine-style form of glamour perfection, costumes or props to help capture a sense of personality and life, or a move into a fantastical world of elves, trolls or space aliens, the limit is the imagination.
