To fully appreciate these beautiful shoes you must love at least one of these: asian-inspired, vintage, floral, bright colors, custom-made, wearable art! I will readily admit that when I first came across Hetty Rose's shoes, I was immediately hooked; no looking back for me!
If you've read my other lens on Kimono Jewelry, you would have guessed that I'd LOVE these shoes. Hetty Rose is quite a talented and prolific designer; I've chosen just a few of her designs to feature in my lens. Hope you enjoy!
A bit about Hetty Rose
Henrietta Rose Samuels graduated from the London College of Fashion with a degree in Footwear Design & Development (Cordwainers).
During her time at university, Henrietta also gained an industrial placement for one year of study with footwear designer Georgina Goodman. She has worked in London and Italy for handmade shoe companies. --Hetty Rose
Hetty Rose shoes are made of vintage Japanese kimono fabrics. She hand picks the most exquisite antique fabrics to use as uppers for her shoes, creating wearable works of art.
The designs are simple, yet provocative, designed to make the foot appear more attractive. The collaboration of colours, materials, service and directional design result in unique, wearable footwear.
