Kim So Eun got her first lead movie role in Fourth Period Murder Mystery 4, co-starring fellow actor and child star, Yoo Seung Ho. In the movie, Kim So Eun and Yoo Seung Ho gets entangled in a murder case in high school and have one hour to seek out the killer. The movie will be out this August.

She was also included in the cast of KBS2TV's "The Man Who Can't Get Married" together with Jin Hee, Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim So Eun, and Yang Jung Ah.

On 12th April, she was the celebrity pitcher invited to do the opening pitch for LG Twins as they took on Doosan Bears at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium. Kim So Eun took to the pitch and did the opening pitch before the KBO baseball league game got underway.

She was appointed as the ambassador for the 5th Korea International Youth Film Festival (KIYFF). She had been picked by the organizers because of her professionalism and healthy image as an actress. They felt that Kim So Eun would be a perfect role model for youths and also reflects well on the festival's image. On June 3, 2009 - she had a fan signing during the opening ceremony of the festival.

Dong-A Otsuka (distributor for Pocari Sweat) had recently inked a contract with Kim So Eun.

Kim So Eun replied tactfully, "When I am with my friends, I resemble Hwang Bo Soo. When I am by myself, I am like Ga Eul. When I meet people whom I am seeing for the first time, I don't really talk much. And when they review my scenes on the camera, I am so shy that I can't even watch myself on camera."

So Eun replied, "It's Goo Joon Pyo. He might look really perfect but surprisingly, he does have some flaws and areas where he could improve on. Guys like these look really charismatic to me. As for playboys like So Yi Jung, I will definitely not forgive them (smiles)."

Q. "Boys Over Flowers" has finished filming. How do you feel?
A. "It feels like I am still in the middle of filming. Even though has finished filming, it feels like it hasn't. Even though it was tiring for 6 months... BoF was very popular, and I received a lot of popularity too. Thank you very much everyone."

Q. What is the most memorable thing?
A. "Because of BoF "Ga Eul-yang" has become my nickname (laughs). Even though at first I was a little sad about the name, but on one hand after fully absorbing the "Ga Eul" character I felt an intimacy to be called that so I felt happy. Also because I have received so much love with my nickname it has become a precious name to me and my other name. Sometimes even my family and friends would call me "Ga Eul-yang." (laughs)"

Q. You received a lot of love by as the "Seoul couple" with Kim Bum.
A. "In the drama Ga Eul and Yi Jeong's love line differed from the original Japanese work to create a beautiful love, and I was very happy because of that. "Seoul couple" is a pretty name to be coined as... I'm thankful we received so much support and love (laughs)."

Q. Lastly please say a few words to the fans.
A. "My fans who have given me so much love, I hope you will be healthy. I hope your days are filled with laughter. Now and in the future with everyone's support I will show you all a better side of me as well as my hard efforts. And today, tomorrow, everyday, thank you."
