Meet Your You

Ranked #34,217 in Internet, #1,031,430 overall

Be all you can be!

I was reading a discussion regarding "can we really have "it all." My immediate thought was "of course," but after thinking it over, I decided that it really depends on a lot of things. First, you have to define what IT ALL is. Then you have to decide if YOU think YOU can have "it all". Then, you have to be willing to change that definition of "it all" as life changes.

I believe an individual's definition of "it all" varies over their life. When I was a baby, "it all" was when I was in the arms of my mother enjoying a good meal. Some newlyweds think they have "it all" when all they have is each other, and a can of beanie-weenies. But, as time changes, babies matures, we grow older, definitions become more complex, and finding "it all" becomes increasingly different.

The first lesson I learned about having "it all" is that as soon as you get "it all", you want more! And, there is no problem with wanting more.

Your personal Wealth is more than $ in your pocket. There are other forms of wealth - information, support, encouragement, support, knowledge, life experiences. Each person is of value and has something to share with others.

I am a wife, mom, employee, business owner and proud American. I would like to use the internet to encourage you to develop yourself and have confidence in yourself.

Meet Your Why

Absolutely no doubt in my mind. Network marketing is not easy,
and don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise!
You may be laughed at by friends and family members. You
also be criticized. Co-workers may show some resentment.
Joy stealers and Dream stealers doing everything to zap
the life out of you and tell you it can't be done. Prospects WILL hang up on
you. Companies you may sign up with will go out of business.
Your Upline may ignore you, customers may complain about
product, and distributors under you will quit.

You know what? That does NOT matter IF
You KNOW your WHY and your WHY is BIG!

I remember reading a book almost 25 years ago -
it was the book about Mary C Crowly, the original
owner and founder of "Home Interiors".
She had a saying:

"If it's to be, it's up to me!"

Try repeating those words:

IF IT'S TO BE, IT'S UP TO ME

AGAIN: "If-It's-To-Be, It's-Up-To-Me!!"

AGAIN: "IF--IT'S--TO--BE, IT'S--UP--TO--ME!!!"

YOU - YOU - YOU are the only one responsible for the success of your
business!

It doesn't matter what anyone else does or doesn't do, it
really comes down to you and your desire or your "WHY".

So, before you read anything further YOU need to know
and get a vision of 100% clarity on why you are in this business.
Your "WHY" needs to be larger than life; something that will
scare the bajeezers out of you. In fact, a couple of months ago
I read someone explaining your WHY or your DREAM - and he said
that if it doesn't SCARE you. If your WHY and your DREAM doesn't
make you shake in your socks, then it's not big enough.

For me it's my husband, and our college son.
See, my husband retired out of the 9-1-1 business.
He now works "for fun" because he paid his dues for
23 years. I work in the corporate world for the assurance
of funds to put our son through college debt free.
But I see 65 and 70 year old people HAVING to work -
and I do NOT want to be 65 years old and HAVING to work.
I want a retirement - so that my husband and I will be
free to travel, spend time with our son and his family (when
he gets one), and not have every single day driven and
designated by 'the clock" or "the man" (also known as
a 9-5 job)

This has become my WHY, and my Passion!
And network marketing is my chosen path through which
to journey to get there.

So, I challenge you. Determine YOUR WHY.

I can make one promise to you - this will be the most
important factor in determining your success in this
business.

If you have already thought about this then that is great!
Let's visit or revisit your goals and dreams together!

So, your homework - get a notebook, one you really think is
nice and that you will enjoy writing and working in.
You will be creating your blueprint and designing YOUR
future.

What is YOUR WHY?

Life Lessons from Texas

Growing up in rural Texas afforded a wealth of opportunity to learn from life, about life, and use that knowledge later in life when building my business.

As a young adolescent, I had the blessing of living with my parents on what I sometimes called "a little house in the prairie" (we lived in a small house in Grand Prairie, TX). Yes, we were in a city, but our street was on the outer most parts of the city and the "country" was around me . There were no houses next to us but rather open fields and woods and lots of critters. One summer, our dog was on the patio and making lots of noise barking. I went to the glass and saw that the dog was barking at a turtle that had found the dog's food bowl to be a nice place for a snack. This was a hot dry summer and I suppose the turtle had journeyed our way and stumbled upon a meal. The turtle continued to make daily visits. I took a bottle of fingernail polish and made a marking on his back to ensure it was the same turtle visiting us. It was! That turtle could be a quick mover and it seemed as though that if we walked away from the glass, he would scittle away very quickly. Who ever said turtles moved slow really hasn't observed them . Or, maybe just Texas turtles are quick?
When dinner was over, the turtle would begin making his journey back to the woods and the nearby watering hole. When turtles travel their favorite direction is straight. They don't make many twists and turns unless the forward direction has an obstacle too large for them to mount. They will take the slightest diversion and then get right back on their forward direction.

Also, if we got too close trying to watch turtle, he would do the classic turtle action - pull in the head and legs and wait and wait and wait..until he could sense we "the enemy" were gone and he could safely make his journey again.

A few lessons I've applied from turtle, through the years are:
  • When the going get's tough, the tough find another way. That summer, turtle had to find another way to find sustenance. Then, once he found what he needed (food and water at our patio) he continued to feed upon our supply.
  • Turtle also taught me to not give up. He had to make a LONG journey (at least for a turtle) from the watering hole, where I assumed he was originally from. But, he knew where he could find food and he made that journey daily. He didn't give up on that original journey to find food, and his journey and searching paid off for him. He found a house that SPOILS pets and critters!
  • That little turtle also taught me that it's ok to Tuck and NOT run. Some wildlife, like rabbits and squirrels will run and dart when they get into trouble and "the enemy" is close. That can sometimes lead to their demise. Instead, turtle just tucked and rode out his "storm" until "the enemy" was no longer around.
  • Keep moving forward was turtles other lesson to me. Turtles don't zig zag about. They move forward, nice and slow and steady.

Learn from my turtle. Make your goals. Have your dreams. And MOVE forward!
I hope you have a Turtle day!

Riding the Donkey

Life Lessons From The Donkey in the Field

Growing up on the outskirts of town had some benefits. We always said we were living in the country in the city. We had fields all around, wildlife and lots of experiences. One field was the home of a donkey and some horses. My dad decided to let me experience riding on the back of the neighbor's donkey - without a saddle! He was such a friendly fellow, poking his head over the fence for carrots and hay. His attitude changed quickly when I was placed on his back. He shot off like a bullet and I kept my head down concentrating on holding on to his mane to keep from falling off! We were bumping along the path and I was holding on for dear life. I never saw that limb coming. That little furry bugger ran under a low limb and walloped me right off his back onto the hard, dusty Texas ground. Soon I found myself rubbing the knot on my head and dusting off the dirt!
I look back on that event now, and can apply some of the lessons to my business. I must not keep my head down and so focused that I am not aware of my surroundings. Just like my folks that were hollering at me to get me to look up, I need to watch the trends and events in business and keep aware. What seasons are coming that I can market my products or myself. What new innovations are on the horizon that can help my business? I don't want to be so focused on the "right here and now" that I'm not looking ahead and planning my next move. I need to keep my head up and look out for any branches!

Meet...Spilled Milk

Stephen Glenn, a noted research scientist likes to tell how he found his destiny at a very young age. As a small boy, he tried to get a container of milk from the refrigerator all by himself. He dropped it, and milk poured all over the floor.

His mother rushed into the kitchen, of course, but instead of scolding him, she decided to turn this minor disaster into an opportunity. "What a great mess!" she said. Since the damage had already been done, she encouraged her son to get on the floor and play in the puddles of milk. Then she moved on to the next step: responsibility for solving the problem. "Well, we've got to clean it up now," she said. "What do you think would be the best way to do that?" He picked up the sponge, and they worked together to clean up the mess.

Then the mother looked to the future: "Let's see if we can figure out a way for you to get a carton from the refrigerator without dropping it again." She found an empty carton, filled it with water, and took it outside so they could experiment until the boy figured out a safe way to lift and carry it safely.

As and adult, the scientist credits his mother with teaching him not to be afraid of making mistakes. Isn't that a better response than anger, punishment, blame or the host of other negative responses?

Don't be afraid to make mistakes. LEARN from those mistakes and develop a plan of what not to do in the future. AND if you make the mistake again...so what? It's only spilled milk! Wipe it up and try again! You WILL figure it out!
