Why choose the amazon kindle?

Here you will find several reasons to purchase the amazon kindle. For those of you who are not sure what the amazon kindle is, it's a type of e reader. It allows you to purchase books in different electronic formats so that you can keep them all in one small unit. I LOVE the kindle and I think you will too!

On this site there are also links available to purchase the kindle as well as accessories.

While you're here, don't forget to check the comments section which also has pertinent information on the kindle from readers who were kind enough to share their own experiences!

Reasons to own/purchase a Kindle

  • The Kindle is environmentally beneficial (no books means fewer trees are cut down).
  • The kindle has a wireless connection of its own rather than requiring a computer to be hooked up to it.
  • The kindle saves space. For those of you who love reading, but have limited space, it allows you to save books on the unit itself rather than having shelves or crates full of books taking up space in your home.
  • There is also a memory card slot for extra memory. I don't know about you, but I would rather have a few memory cards full of books than an entire room full of them!
  • Reading it is like reading a real book. The screen acts like the page of a real book! No glare or eyestrain like with a computer.
  • Along with books, you can order magazines and newspapers to be delivered right to your kindle. No more waiting for the paper boy, going to the corner store or waiting for the mail person!
  • The wireless connection also allows free use of wikopedia, the webs free online encyclopedia. There is no charge for whispernet. It comes with the kindle (no wireless bill).
  • You can choose to order books online from a computer or order them directly from your kindle.
  • Because of its design, there isn't the eyestrain you get from reading on a computer screen.
  • Books, magazines, and newspapers for kindle are generally LESS expensive than their predecessers, so the Kindle will eventually pay for itself in savings! Of course how much you read will determine the time frame in which this will happen:)
  • There are over 350,000 books available!
  • Have you ever bought a book and, after the first chapter or two, realised it was a dud? When that happens it's a frustrating waiste of money. With the kindle with most books available you can download and read the first chapter or two BEFORE you buy the whole book.

Thanks for the comment and the info:) I am working on getting a list of some of the kindle books available. Right now though I've been having trouble with my connection speed. Hope to have one put together soon. [in reply to HowlingMamaWolf]

Hi! I have a Kindle and I just LOVE it. I take it everywhere with me. It's so nice not to have to worry about finding a book to read - in a minute flat I can get a new one. I don't know if you know, but KIndle has FREE books you can download. Just go to the kindle store and type in $0.00 in the search box.

Word to the wise - I have a friend that HAD a kindle. I say had because she left it in the car while in FL. I've left mine in the car to run into the store, and it's been fine, but she left her's in the car for 8 hours in the hot FL heat. It started to melt.

Do you have a reading list?
