Review the Pros and Cons of the New Kindle Fire Tablet by Amazon
Amazon has been very successful with their Kindles and now they have gone a step further. They are releasing The Kindle Fire just in time for the Christmas season that is the most affordable, full featured tablet on the market. Current Kindle owners know how great their e reader is. They know it's lightweight and they can easily download millions of books to read anywhere they want. But what if you haven't owned a Kindle, or a Tablet before? Do you have questions about what this new Fire Tablet is all about? And what about the pro's and con's of buying the most affordable tablet on the market?
I have put this review into simple terminology, no big tech talk (there is a link for the technical part) for you. Of course since the Kindle Fire isn't released to the public until Nov. 15th this information has come from many techie people as well as from Amazon's marketing materials, and not a personal review. I wish it was a personal review, but I too have to wait for mine. If you already know you want one of these new tablets you can order it here, or read the pro's and con's, watch the Video's and make the best decision for yourself.

Pros of the Kindle Fire
these are a few of the things that make The Fire a good deal
- 1Price- You can't, nor can Apple, beat the price of $199
- 2Adobe Flash Support- Apple doesn't have it, and you need it for many sites, and to play flash videos.
- 3Lightweight-The 7-inch color touchscreen, without a camera, makes it light enough that you can hold it in one hand!
- 4Advanced Damage Resistant Display-New screen that isn't as sensitive to scratches and damage.
- 5Millions of Downloadable Books- The Kindle owners already know the benefits of Amazon's millions of book titles. Books for both adults and children! Now these books will be in color...so those favorite illustrations will really come to life.
- 6FREE Cloud Storage- Amazon's free cloud storage means you don't have to have as much internal memory. Everything is stored for you and quickly as well as easily accessible.
- 7 Borrow Kindle Books from the Library- Many local libraries have Kindle books that you can "borrow" instead of buying from Amazon. You just "borrow" the book, transfer it to your Kindle Fire via WiFi and read it. Not all libraries have this yet, but times are changing.
- 8 Warranty and Personal Customer Service- Comes with a 1 year limited warranty that can be upgraded to 2 years. They also have live customer service! More info on Amazon's Kindle Fire Warranty
- 9 Fast Dual Core Processor- The Kindle Fire has the same dual core processor (for speed) that the iPad has.
Cons of The Kindle Fire
- 1WiFi with no 3G- There is no 3G connection everything is via WiFi
- 2No Camera- Some features were removed from the Fire to make it lighter, easier to handle, and affordable. A camera was one of them
- 3Memory- People used to having 16, 32, or more, GB of memory might see the 8GB's (6GB's usable) as a problem. Amazon's Cloud Storage stores all your apps and stuff for you so expandable memory becomes less of an issue. According to Amazon's spec's the memory is enough to store "80 apps, plus 10 movies or 800 songs or 6,000 books".
- 4Android App's- You cannot use all App's, only the Android ones, but Amazon has a large store of Apps available.
- 5Amazon Silk Browser's Storage of Personal Info- This is both a pro and a con, like many new technologies. Amazon's Silk browser stores information to make it faster for you to browse the web but it also stores the information. A double edged sword that raises privacy concerns. You can read more here if interested Amazon Silk.
- 6No SD Card- I'm not sure how much this affects everyone though, but it is one of the things that some people want. Although there is no SD slot, there is a USB miniport. Current Kindle users love the Amazon Kindle ebooks and content, so not having a SD slot in the new tablet isn't a change to them.

This is the most competitive tablet to hit the market since iPad was released. The price is 3 times less than the iPad, you have a ton of features. The size is perfect for carrying with you on trips, the park, or even just using it at home. The reviews of the Kindle Fire are good too!

- I want a tablet, but I cannot justify it. If I do buy the Kindle Fire I certainly want to wait until the 2nd generation.

- I've been weighing up the pros and cons of this device and am still undecided. I already have an iPad but something more pocket sized would be handy too. I think I'll be waiting for the inevitable next generation which will hopefully have things like a camera, sd slot etc. which I'd be willing to pay a little more for.

- One concern for the Kendle Fire, is the fact it is not accessible by blind users. The regular Kendle is so if Amazon wants to keep the market of schools and such where it is required, they might want to consider making the Fire accessible, or keep the original one around.
