Great info on a fascinating approach to Kindle. I never realised this could be done.
  • poddys Apr 25, 2012 @ 4:23 pm | delete
This sounds so easy to set up. You just have to create a blog and to be committed to writing in it regularly. If you are successful it could be worth a decent amount of money. Nicely detailed instructions.

This is very helpful information. I launched my blog, The Wonder of Tech, on the Kindle in November, 2011. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/The-Wonder-of-Tech/dp/B006E85RN2/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1335322761&sr=1-1

You gave great reasons why someone would want to subscribe to a blog on the Kindle. How do I monitor my blog subscriptions to see how many people have subscribed? I can't find anywhere on Amazon that gives me that information. Thanks!
  • Susan52 Apr 25, 2012 @ 9:33 am | delete
Your blog sounds really good! As for monitoring the subscriptions, I haven't found a place that gives that information either. If you do find it, I hope you'll share that information here. Thanks!

I've really been wanting to try this. Lately getting published on Kindle has been something that I've been researching more and more. Thanks for the lens.

My mom has the Kindle DX and she loves it. It's a little on the heavy side but she can enlarge the text and still see a whole page of writing unlike the smaller Kindle. You don't have to sell me on the Kindle. I love it. In fact, I just bought the subscription to "ISquidoo, do you?" the blog. I'm going to also publish my blog. It's a craft blog I have with my sister so many of the things I'll be doing on Squidoo will be about crafts, sewing, etc. So glad I read this article!!! Thanks so much. Linda

Thanks so much for subscribing to my blog! When you have your blog published for Kindle, feel free to come back here and leave a link.

Nifty idea for bloggers. I'm afraid mine is too much odds and ends, so doubt anyone would pay to read my ramblings.
  • poddys Dec 4, 2011 @ 10:08 am | delete
I had no idea that you could publish your blog, that sounds like a great idea, especially if you write regular articles. I will have to bookmark this lens, nicely done, blessed.
  • WhiteSockGirl Oct 17, 2011 @ 5:03 am | delete
Thanks! I am so tempted now to 'kindle publish' my blog!

    Another great lens.

Amazing Squidoo lens and a top idea. I might try to get one of my blogs on Amazon and Kindle.

    Wow, that sounds very exciting.
What types of blogs do people like on the kindle?

I think you will be surprised that people are willing to pay for good content if it comes on a medium they like to use. People will pay for magazines, newspapers, television, and a number of services if they like the content they receive. Paying a few bucks a month on kindle is not going to be the deterrent, it will be the value of the content they receive.

Great information - thanks for sharing it with us all

Very interesting, Susan. Thanks for the reminder...I think of this off and on again.

I went through all the steps to add one of my blogs to kindle only after adding all my blog info and uploading the screenshot, etc. that this program is only available to publishers in the USA and UK.
I can't select my country from the list or select vochers as a form of payment. It looks like if you don't have an address and bank account for either country, you are excluded. I'll see what happens. Currently it is showing as pending.

This is the first I had heard of it. Interesting for sure. I saw you on Kindle via someone's lens on here that showed the amazon product. I think it was Nightbear's lens. So I wanted to come to your lenses and hear more about it.

Great lens on the kindle, and I had no idea about selling blogs on kindle. Thanks!

what is a tagline and masthead?
  • Susan52 Jul 22, 2010 @ 9:50 pm | delete
Using my Susan52 dot com blog as an example (it's pictured above), the tagline is: "It's what happens when you combine the inner child, the giant squid, the sassy alter ego and the baby boomer." The masthead is the top part of the blog that contains the title and the tag line. When the blog is published to Kindle, the masthead shows at the top of the first page on the display. Hope that helps!

Do we have to pay to set up an account to sale our blog?
  • Susan52 Jul 20, 2010 @ 6:14 pm | delete
Nope, publishing your blog on Kindle is totally free!
  • Joan4 Jul 20, 2010 @ 2:37 pm | delete
Wow! I will do this right away! Thank you!
  • Marly Jun 10, 2010 @ 3:11 pm | delete
Have you ever noted any problems with advertisers? Just curious if either party (Kindle or advertisers) balk about this.
  • Susan52 Jun 10, 2010 @ 3:31 pm | delete
Not sure I understand your question, Marly. Whose advertisers are you referring to? And Kindle is owned by Amazon, so it's in their best interest to encourage content in their Kindle store. Hope that helps a little! twitlo

Wow this is awesome! Thanks for the info. I had no idea you could publish your blog on Kindle.
  • WritingforYourWealth Dec 1, 2009 @ 3:51 pm | delete
I had no idea you could do this (of course, I haven't taken the plunge and purchased a Kindle yet). Thanks for the information!

Oh what people are missing out on in just critizing the Kindle 2 and not trying it! I LOVE MY KINDLE!!!! I wouldn't give it up for the world now. It is so easy to read and I love the instant access to books. All diehard readers should invest :)
  • JaguarJulie Jun 5, 2009 @ 5:23 pm | delete
So, what do I think? I think when they finally give away those 5 kindles that all of the Squidoo lensmasters blogs should be preloaded -- along with Seth's books too. Isn't it just amazing what you can read on your kindle?
