Pros and Cons of the Kindle Reader
What is a Kindle Reader?
First question for some might be, what is a Kindle reader and how does it work? Kindle is a portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. It requires ambient light. Even though it might have long life, when the battery runs out you can't read until you find power. A normal charge life for the Kindle is approximately 5 days. Kindles uses the same wireless technology as advanced cell phones, which allows you to download/buy books directly onto/from the device in less that 60 seconds, with no Internet access or tedious search for Wi-Fi hotspots. Unlike regular cell phone technology, no monthly access fee is required for Kindle. What you actually have to pay for is the content you decide to download. Books can be previewed free of charge on Amazon.com.Kindle uses the electronic paper technology known to resemble regular paper readability and to provide a crisp black-and-white screen that is much easier on your eyes than any computer screen. The device comes with a built-in qwerty keyboard that allows you to take notes on what you're reading, search the stored content, search the Amazon library (and complete purchases of course!) and send messages. Yes send messages, because every Kindle owner also receives an associated Kindle email address. And if you struggle with what you're reading, two buttons on the device will quick-link to both the Oxford English Dictionary and Wikipedia.
It's compact, lightweight, and easy to use at a moment's notice. Kindle weighs less than a paperbook but can hold about 200 books, and its memory can be increased using an SD card. The good news is that Amazon will keep backup copies of any of the books purchased via Kindle so they can be re-loaded on the device as many time as you want.
Amazon's Kindle electronic reader is currently available for approximately $350.00. Unfortunately, due to popular demand, if you want to purchase a Kindle from Amazon you'll be placed on a waiting list. Of course, there are places online that carry the Kindle reader, visit Kindle Reader Sales, for more information on purchasing a Kindle.

Pros & Cons of the Kindle Reader
Simple to use: no computer, no cables
No monthly fee
Amazon does a good job of not only presenting detailed information prior to purchase, but you can download the first chapter of most books for free.
Ability to easily and quickly change the font size.
USB: if all you ever do is download and read books you can completely ignore
the USB connection. However when connect Kindle to your PC it's "just a drive". No
drivers or other software required. Just copy other documents, mp3s or whatever to the device.
Eliminates clutter of books collecting around me, it's transportable, I can take as many books as I want on trips.
The Cons of the Kindle Reader:
When you purchase a book it's only on your Kindle, making it difficult to share, as so many people do with paper books.
PDF's are not supported. Hopefully they will be some day.
Platforms and DRM restrictions: your Kindle books can be read only on your Kindle. Perhaps using the iTunes model, a PC-based version of its software would allow your purchases to be usable in more than one place.
The SD card is accessible only by removing the back of the device.

Kindle is by far much better than trying to store a few hundred books.
I have my library full of literally hundreds of books, + have many more out away in storage.
I have ran out of room to keep them all.
"KINDLE" is the asnwer !!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I love books, there is no way I could ever be able to store as many books on bookshelves as my Kindle will hold. I love my Kindle so much! I'll always have books on a bookshelf - but I'll now have more on my Kindle 2.

- Frankly I prefer books. However, I do think it is unfair that some people are comparing the Kindle with the IPad. There is no comparison, Kindle is a techno book, ipod is on it's way to being a computer slate. You can't compare apples and oranges. Thanks for the lens.
