It also comes with sponsored screensavers.

Don't worry about ads interrupting your reading. That won't happen. The new features will appear on screensavers and the bottom of the Kindle's home screen. This reduced-price version of the Kindle has been made possible by its initial sponsors: Buick, Chase, Olay and Visa.

AdMash? What's That?

Amazon Kindle with Special Offers Screensaver ExampleOne of Amazon's goals for the Kindle with Special Offers is to present screensavers that people want to see. They've created an app called AdMash. It's optional. AdMash shows two screensavers side by side and you get to choose which one is more attractive to you. Those most preferred by customers get to be future screensavers.

As noted, AdMash is optional. It doesn't come with your new Kindle with Special Offers. You can download it to help Amazon select screensavers. Or not. The choice is yours.
