Which is Better for Home Fitness? Kinect vs. Wii Fit

Which Gaming System Provides a Better Workout Platform for Your Home?

I'm looking at the Wii Fit and the Microsoft Kinect system for my kids (and myself) to have a fun and effective workout at home. We own a Wii and an Xbox, so the price difference is not that great and I am researching other differences such as effectiveness, ease of use, and availability of workout software. If you have information to share, or if you're looking for the right system for your family as I am, check in here and let us know your thoughts!

Xbox Kinect

Unanimous says:

I would say the Kinect because it has Biggest Loser Game and truely that is a great workout

bechand says:

we have the Xbox Kinect and the playstation version - both are good and I assume that the Wii is similar. I bet they all give the same workout ... you can only do so much on a screen - it is the software that matters. And now, most games come on all systems, so it really wouldn't matter which you buy. My reason for liking Kinect is no controller - uses camera - you do not need to stay on the Wii board etc... i would think it would be easier to use ... but again I do not have a Wii ... and I am sure that most people posting here will have one but not both ... (we do have xbox and playstation versions ... and I would choose xbox over playstation due to that controler thing - the playstation has an external controler as well ...)

Wii Fit

Baksgdfsbs says:

I'm looking for some information about which is better in the market for homework but personally I think that the wii is better but that's because I only have a wii not on Xbox!!!!=P

Anna says:

I've actually started using the EA Active 2 program for the wii. You can use it with or without the wii fit board. It's tough! OK, maybe I'm a wuss, but I'm on the easy level and it's tough! Anyway, I highly recommend it!

Interesting set of choices. I love keeping fit and I do it the good ol' way and that's walking/jogging in the park. I'd love to see how others do using Wii programs and how effective they are. Fantastic lens! Hey, I just published my fourth lens called the 3 Shortcuts to Happiness and would love to know what you think of it. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Blessings! Sundae ;-)

Unfortunately, I cannot help you with your quest for information about the differences in fitness programs between the Kinect and the Wii. I will be curious to see the results. I have lensrolled your page to my two Wii pages and my Kinect page.
