Kinectimals for Xbox Kinect Review

Ranked #5,952 in Games, #268,263 overall

Kinectimals was released Nov 4, 2010 for the for Xbox Kinect platform.

I really had not heard of the Kinect before mid-November so I was extremely excited when I discovered it. Previous to the Xbox Kinect we had the Wii which has not been used in some time due to the clumsy feel of the controllers.

The first game that we tried out is Kinectimals. Here's what we think!

Kinectimals Review

We just got the Kinectimals game about a month ago and have been playing a few times per week. Here's what we love about Kinectimals:

-The controller-free aspect of the game is hands down the best invention ever. Smaller kids can easily play without having to operate a clumsy controller. It's also just really, really cool to use your hands.

- I love how quickly the game loads and starts up. I've always had a problem with all the screens you have to load on the Wii. This is much, much faster.

- The Kinectimals game itself is very cute by design. You basically adopt an animal and train and play with it. They story is an adventure one that's easy to understand and the map feature is very easy to access.

- In order to unlock other parts of the game you have to complete tasks which include: training your animal to do tricks, playing with your animal and winning contests.

- One thing that I love about the game is that you never get bored. There are a ton of toys to play with and the contests are fun to play multiple times. When you earn coins you can buy new items for your animals house and toys for the toy box.

- Another cool aspect is that you can switch players with ease. The Kinect sensor seamlessly picks up each person as they move in and out of the sensor area.

- I highly recommend this game. It's great family fun and very simple to learn. The kids will LOVE it and it gets them up and moving.

A wide-eyed Bengal tiger cub cocks its head to the side and playfully peers at you. Memories of your first trip to the zoo come rushing back. Through the magic of Kinect that furry tiger cub is in your living room and about to become your best friend.

"Kinectimals" invites children, their parents and animal lovers of all ages to build lasting friendships with some of the world's most exotic creatures. Just like real pets, your "Kinectimals" will come running when they hear your voice, respond to commands such as "jump," "roll over" and "play dead," and purr with joy when you scratch them behind their ears.
