Kingdoms of Camelot - New Update

On 20 May, 2010, Kingdoms of Camelot released a major patch. Not only were graphics significantly improved, but players are allowed to build a fourth city. While the technique to build the fourth city is similar to building the third city, the resulting gameplay will be significantly different.

I expect that more and more players will build a fourth city and want to maximize resource production within those cities. That means that they will want to conquer wildernesses. Since most high level wildernesses are already claimed, aggressive players will be more tempted to attack other players' properties. This, in turn, will increase the PvP aspect of the game. Good or bad, there will be more alliance battles competing for limited supplies.

Fourth City Deed

Fourth City DeedA new quest will appear in your quest log. To earn the fourth city deed, you must turn in:

- four Sir Kay's Crests (which are looted from lvl 5 and up wildernesses)
- three Sir Bedivere's Crests (which are looted from level 8 and up wildernesses)
- one Sir Gawain's Crest (which is looted from level 9 and up wildernesses)

Conquer a Plain

I always forget to relinquish a wilderness before I send my armies out to conquer a new one. Urgh! Make sure you drop a wilderness, send troops to conquer a new Plain (any level will work just fine), and then quickly update the Plain to a City.

If you time it well, you can re-conquer the wilderness you just dropped before the defenders respawn. It will make it much easier that way!

You troops should be "encamped." If they are, then proceed to the next step. If your troops are not encamped, then you were either maxed out on the number of wildernesses controlled, or you failed to beat the defenders.

Reinforce the Plain

***As of September 2010, players no long have to reinforce a plain! This is great news for conquerors!***

Now that your troops are encamped, you need to send a minimum of 250 Supply Troops to the location. Do NOT use Supply Wagons - for some reason they will not work.

The Supply Troops must carry 10,000 of each resource with them to reinforce the Plain.

***Note***
To send troops in "reinforce" mode, click on your Rally Point, and then to "March Troops". Make sure you choose "reinforce" from the dropdown box at the top of the window.

And now make your city!

That's all there is to it! A pop-up screen will ask you if you want to make your city. If you are happy with the location, then click YES.

Congratulations on making your fourth city!

What's next?

There are four locked slots adjacent to the fourth city slot. It is reasonable to assume that means there will be more cities coming.

I hope that new cities are different, that they require different resources, allow players to produce different armies, and give new buildings. It is very important to keep the gameplay fresh and new in order to keep the interest of existing players and draw in new ones.
