PICARD PUNISHED FOR KIRK MISTAKES

Picard was forced to follow the "Prime Directive" - a new order imposed on him by Starfleet AFTER they saw what a complete shambles resulted when they let Kirk meet new alien races!

Shatner is way more huggable than Picard. As far as who is a better captain...well, he was a product of his time and special effects back then were everyone moving side to side to show the ship was being bombed! If he hadn't been successful there wouldn't have BEEN a Picard.
