Kirk Vs Picard
It's a debate as old as time itself... who was the better captain, James T. Kirk or Jean Luc Picard? Kirk was a dashing fellow who flew by the seat of his pants and often took off those pants to romance some space aliens. Picard was much more thoughtful, respected his crew more and intelligently led the USS Enterprise out of the most dangerous of situations. It's like nerd vs jock except, well, they are both nerds.

first of all both captains are awesome in their own way. but kirk has this big ego for being stupid and reckless which isn't actually true. for example he plays chess (and beat a vulcan!), one of his old starfleet friends said he was a "stack of book on legs, aka he was a total nerd, plus he beat the maur karyoshi (i know i spelled that wrong) simulation! also it's stated that the enterprise comes before women (even those w/ green skin). it was stated multiple times! (although he does later sacrifice the enterprise for spock-but spocks awesome!)i'm not saying he's not totally bad @ss-he is! but he also has a head on his shoulders and he doesn't let relationships get in the way of being captain.

Kirk is awesome -- a real man's man. Picard is great too but you chose the best word for him -- aloof. When it comes down to Kirk vs. Picard, I have to go with my childhood hero --Captain Kirk. Besides, I like hair. Kirk's got Picard in this area.

I'm gonna start off brief and reserve the right to change my mind. TNG got me into Star Trek and Picard was my intellectual hero. But now that I'm older I really appreciate all the aliens that Kirk has punched in the face and/or sexed up. It's a hard decision, but for now I'm going with my first love.
