What is a Kit Cat Klock?

Kit Cat Clocks were originally produced in 1932 by the California Clock Company of Portland, Oregon. The clock is in the shape of a grinning cat whose eyes and pendulum tail shift back forth to mark the time. The clock face is on the cat's stomach.

The cat clock's design has changed slightly over the years. The original version had 2 paws showing, while newer models have four paws and a bow tie. There are even some new limited edition Kit Cat Klocks that are embellished with rhinestones. Newer versions will also take batteries instead of requiring a plug.

My parents gave this to me for Christmas and I had the perfect spot for it in the kitchen.

I had this same clock growing up. Saw it in a window display along Garland Avenue in North Spokane.

I don't know why but I always wanted one of these. Maybe it is because I grew up watching Felix the Cat.

I think these are amazing. Not sure if they would fit into my current home, but I would consider these for a childrens room once that becomes a reality.
