Almost twenty years of preparing mostly healthy and nutritious meals and an occasional treat make me, I think, fairly knowledgeable in my field.  "What field," you ask?  "Why the world of the kitchen and its tools," I reply!

In the last two years, I have been busily creating a record online of some of my best-ever recipes. However, this page is not about those recipes but rather about the myriad kitchen items which a home cook uses in the process of preparing meals for a family. Items like, but not limited to, kitchen tools, utensils, appliances, gadgets, linens and cookbooks.

This page shares some of the favorite items from MY kitchen as well as a few other products that come highly recommended from other sources.  I definitely hope it helps you find what you are looking for!

And, oh yes, I should tell you that I'm sharing some illustrations from a vintage cookbook that I have in my collection. I have been waiting for an opportunity to use them. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I do looking at them.

Definitely one of the best salad spinners.


I'll have to admit that I haven't tried every single salad spinner that ever was made. However, I've had more than my share of cheap ones and none of them even come close to The OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner. Plus, I've consulted a legion of experts on Amazon. A top-quality line of small kitchen appliances.

Here's a series of small appliances that I don't think can be beat. They are a joint effort between KitchenAid and Martha Stewart and I don't think you could ask for a better combination. I do not personally own any of them but, based on the reviews I have read and on KitchenAid's amazing reputation, I know I would love to have them. Adding any one of them to your kitchen is, to quote one very famous lady, "A Good Thing."
