I like brown sugar but its one of those kitchen items that I only use once in awhile. It seems that every time I go to use the brown sugar it is hard as a rock. I hammer the box, I try to break out chunks, I do what ever I can to get the brown sugar the way it was meant to be.

Hey, I have even tried the cheese grater. If you want to keep the brown sugar from becoming hard, add some soft bread to the bag and close it up good and tight, in just a few hours the sugar will be soft again.

Make your own homemade whipped butter!

Take 1 pound of Shedd's Spread Country Crock and mix it with 1 pound of Real Butter. Whip together using a mixer or by hand and then store it in the refrigerator in small containers. I have a few of the containers that the "Not so real butters" have come in and they make the perfect storage containers.

Ever tried to peel a tomato? Found out its not like peeling an apple. Just place the tomatoes in a bowl, add boiling water and let them sit for one minute. The tomatoes will peel easily with a good paring knife.

Some times it happens when I first buy an apple, usually it happens after I have had the apple for a few days. You take that first bit into the apple only to discover it has no flavor. Actually it tastes a lot like saw dust. Here is a great tip to save that apple. Sprinkle cider over the apple slices. Their flavor will be rejuvenated.

Soups are not complicated to degrease

My grandmother taught me to make soup and then put it in the refrigerator over night. The next day there will be a layer of hardened grease that you just remove. Works but still it could be better. Next time lay a some waxed paper over the surface of the liquid before refrigerating. When cool, remove the and the grease will come off with it.

Corn Cob stand

You want to remove the corn from the cob. You grasp the corn cob with the end on the cutting board and the fun begins. Lets make it simple, pound a 3 inch nail into a board that is one foot square in measurement. Insert the end of the cob onto the nail, and the ear will turn easily as you cut.

Of course this will take away all the fun you have had in the past fighting with those beautiful ears of corn.

Make Fry Sausage easy

Are you like me and love those little sausage links? Of course when trying to cook them, they roll this way and that, making it hard to cook evenly all around. Nex time take a meat skewer and spindle a few of those sausages length wise. They can be easily turned at the same time with a spatula. This also reduces splattering.
