I love my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer. You can say I have a KitchenAid kitchen since all my large and small appliances are Kitchenaid. I use the stand mixer in many recipes. Couldn't do without it!

I have owned the 6 qt mixer for 8 years now and I love it. It has never let down. My only problem is that I bake in higher volume now that I have started a cookie business and may need to upgrade.

I have a Cuisinart 7 quart mixer. The "tilt" function is nice, but the hinge is loose and the machine flops around with any heavy dough, more so than a KitchenAid (which I used extensively in my culinary training). What really frosted my cookies, however, is that the dough hook connection between the hook itself and the threaded rod stripped and fell off. I called customer service today, and they basically told me that I needed to buy a new one even though it should have been covered under warranty. Bad quality, and bad service! DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!!!!

My wedding gift mixer (a Sunbeam Mixmaster) turned 33 a week before Christmas, and my husband thought it was time for me to have a new one. He gifted me on Christmas with the KitchenAid 5 Qt. Artisan in white. I love this mixer and leave it out on my counter, something I never did with the Mixmaster. I recently purchased the citrus juicer attachment from Amazon and am very pleased with it as well. I have not read all 109 previous reviews on this site, but I have read a few that were disgruntled because their Artisans did not mix well.
