Culture
At a party a few years ago a math grad student from Chile asked me, "So, how do you survive in this boring Waterloo?". I didn't know what to say. It takes me years to come up with comebacks.

- Sometimes called the "Gays with Class" gallery but all kinds of classy people hang out here. If you're in town, make sure to get to the annual Wine Gala, Thursday, February 9; tickets are $50.

- In the Centre in the Square, adjoining the concert hall. Usually full of concert-goers just before a concert.
- Globe Studios
- Affordable artist-run studios in the former Bonnie Stuart Shoe factory.
- KW Symphony
- A great mid-sized symphony orchestra in a hall noted for its superior acoustics.
- Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society
- Founded by a libertarian professor but socialists welcome, if they just listen.

- Kitchener's professional theatre company. Soon to announce an exciting new season.

A Drive in the Country
Lots of interesting small towns an easy drive from KW.

- "You are either on the East Coast, the West Coast, or in Elora." Who said that? Ask Google.

- Lots in the town including three theatres. But take a walk by the river, past the railway bridge, cross the low bridge (if not flooded) and you are in farm country.
