List of kitchen appliances cookware
I am using the definition of cookware as being "Utensils, such as pots and pans, for use in a kitchen". A lot depends on what you are looking at as the 'big' picture. Would you want a basic cookware set up or are you looking for a gourmet cookware setup? Kitchenware can come in varying shapes, sizes, colors, and prices. Our suggestions are restricted strictly to cooking equipment (kitchenware); we are not talking about dishes to serve the food on, tableware, etc. It is also assumed that you have major kitchen appliances such as an oven, refrigerator, etc.If you are just starting out and looking for cheap cookware and kitchen supplies, visiting your local Target or Walmart type store as they have low prices and good functional products. Investing in high quality pots and pans that will last you the rest of your life would be the best investment in the long run. Look for those with lifetime warranties and consider what professional chefs use (All-Clad). Always the innovator, All-Clad continually offers new products that are destined to become culinary classics and they also offer a lifetime warranty.
Buy pieces individually because if you buy pots and pans as part of a set you can guarantee that there will be a few pieces that you will never use. You are better off to slowly build your kitchenware with the most useful things that you will use.
In relation to cookware surfaces choose the finish that you are most comfortable with.
Non-stick is the easiest to clean but still has safety concerns associated with it. Enamel and Stainless Steel Cookware is easy to keep clean and care for while Pyrex or similar glass materials are very durable.
* Saute Pan 10-12" The saute pan has higher sides than a regular fry pan, so you can use it to fry in or to make sauces, saute foods and other things
* Skillet Smaller 7" This smaller fry pan is nice to fry up one burger or an egg -- you wouldn't want to use a larger pan because that would waste too much energy."
* 1qt Saucepan with cover
* 2qt-3qt Saucepan with cover
* 4qt Saucepan with cover
* Stockpot (8qt+)with steamer insert
* 4 qt or larger size Dutch oven for roasts and large portions (can also be used for casseroles)
