Help an entrepreneur start a business and escape poverty. For free.
Welcome to Kiva's Headquarters on Squidoo
You're invited.
You're invited to help someone in a developing nation pull themselves up and out of the grasp of poverty. And guess what? It's free and fun, and takes just 5 minutes.
All you have to do is build an easy-to-create web page (we call them lenses) on something you know or care a lot about. A list of your favorite books, recipes, websites, music. A lens about your business or your blog, or the 10 things you'd need if you were on a deserted island.
For every page you make, you'll be raising money for kiva and letting other people know about the great work they do. For free, forever. Just click the big orange button below to start.

Kiva's Mission
Kiva.org is a revolutionary new non-profit that allows individuals to loan as little as $25 to low-income entrepreneurs in the developing world (microfinance).
By doing so, these individuals provide affordable working capital for the poor (money to buy a sewing machine, livestock, etc.), empowering them to earn their way out of poverty.
Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), lenders receive email journal updates from businesses they've sponsored, and as loans are repaid lenders get their loan money back.
