World's First Guided Tour In Klingon
In August 2010, a well-known cave system near Sydney Australia will become the first tourist attraction to offer self guided tours in the Klingon language. The momentous occasion is being promoted under the catch phrase "Boldly Go Where No Tourist Has Gone Before" With the help of Klingon scholars the tour commentary has been translated into the Klingon language and this will go live to the public on August 22 following the official launch at OzTrek3
"In the Star Trek universe, Jenolan Caves was first immortalised in the Next Generation episode 'Relics', through the naming of a 'Sydney Class' Starship - the USS Jenolan," the operators said in a statement.
There are a surprising number of scholars of Klingon, in fact it has been recognised to be the the second most widely used "fantasy" language behind Esperanto. Klingon for the Galactic Traveler (Star Trek)
is a useful guide for those wishing to know about the Klingon language.

About Jenolan Caves

Jenolan Caves is a limestone cave system located about two hours west of Sydney. With stunningly beautiful limestone formations, Jenolan is considered to be Australia's finest cave system and is probably one of the most spectacular in the world.
Known to the local Aboriginal peoples for thousands of years, Jenolan Caves' first recorded discovery by Europeans was in 1838 by pastoralist James Whalan. It is believed however that an ex-convict by the name of James McKeown had been using the caves as a hideout before this. Several of the caves were discovered over the next thirty years until the system eventually came under government control. Finally in1872 it became illegal to break off pieces of the limestone formations. New discoveries continued to be made in the early 20th century with the most recent discovery in 1975. Jenolan Caves has eleven caves open to visitors. The word Jenolan comes from the aboriginal for "high mountain".
If you would like to know more about the history of Jenolan Caves you can find lots of information on the website of The Jenolan Caves Historical & Preservation Society

- It is an strange concept, but one that I would not take up! I would go for the English tour I think! LOL I had no idea that Klingon was such a popular fantasy language. I have heard of people speaking languages from Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings before but not Star Trek. I don't even think I have seen an entire episode of Star Trek before, just never found it interesting.
