Welcome to my knitting lens. I'm a fairly new knitter, and that's good for you because it means I'm always seeking out (and finding) great new sites and ideas. This lens contains links to instructional sites, patterns, and great content from knitters around the world. Hope you enjoy it, and don't hesitate to contact me and tell me what else you'd like to see.

Inspiring KnitBloggers
Instruction and Reference
- KnittingHelp.com
- This site features free online knitting videos! Lots of different concepts and stitches are shown in video format, using both Continental and English methods. I've learned a ton from this site! It is the first reference I use for anything new.
- The Recycled Yarn Tutorial
- A fabulous, detailed guide on turning a sweater into knittable yarn.
- SockClass - Beginning
- A lovely, lovely person has written (and photographed!) a comprehensive guide to knitting socks for beginners.
Free Online Patterns
- Knitty
- Knitty is a great online magazine (published quarterly) with creative, hip free patterns in each issue. This link goes to the pattern archives.
- Marnie MacLean
- MarnieMacLean.com is a site of free knit and crochet patterns, and a related blog along with odds and ends of other bits of musings.
I made Marnie's "Fun Flapper Hat" recently and also made a version in the round. Both turned out nicely. It's a simple, easy pattern; perfect for my first hat. - Lion Brand Free Knitting Patterns
- Lion Brand has a nice collection of free patterns. I think you have to register, but it's worth it.
- MagKnits
- Another great online knitting magazine. This link is to the current issue's patterns. I'll try to update this when they release a new issue.
- Hello Yarn Handspun Yarns
- I especially like the totes. You'll find some unusual designs here, quirky in the most fun way.
- Knitting with rebecca-online.com
- Some very cute patterns from this German magazine, available in PDF format for your convenience.
- // knitPro web app
- Not exactly a pattern, but it makes a pattern for you. Also handy for other crafts.
