Knitting Patterns

Ranked #6,929 in Arts & Design, #116,549 overall

Welcome to the knitting patterns lens. My goal is to bring you the best of knitting. This includes free patterns I particularly like on the Internet as well as the best shopping links. There is also a feed here from my own knitting blog. I hope you will stop by!

Good patterns make all of the difference in our knitting. I will only bring you the best and highest quality.

Don't forget to check your gauge! And enjoy - there is nothing as satisfying and relaxing as knitting a wonderful project.

Knitting Supplies

You can't do without these

There are some supplies that are absolute necessities - needles for example. But others may not seem important... until you need them!
  • Knitting needles of various sizes and lengths. Also it is good to have a variety of materials these needles are made of: Wood, plastic, aluminum, etc. Different yarns require different needles.
  • A good measuring gauge. One that is about six inches long and is designed to measure gauge is your best bet.
  • A measuring tape. Be sure your finished project is measuring up at the predicted, and necessary, gauge.
  • Stitch markers. These can be the plain bone ring ones or fancy ones made by a crafter. Just be sure you have them.
  • Row counter. Get a solid one that won't register an extra row if it is bumped.
  • Small scissors to trim yarn ends. One that hangs around the neck and is not an actual pair of scissors is good for travelers.
  • Yarn needles. Several are good to have on hand. Plastic ones are great, metal ones are important as well. Sometimes a needle with a curved end is the easiest to create a seam with.
  • Bags to carry your projects and plastic bins to store them. Protect wool from moths when you store yarn.
  • A large area to block projects. One that has a heavy cushion type surface (padded cardboard) works well. You might like blocking pins and wires as well.

My Favorite Yarn Shop

The Highest Quality & The Best Prices

There are a lot of places, good places, to buy yarn and patterns. But no one is as good as Oregon Trail Yarn. Their customer service is the best!! And they have yarn you just can't do without!
