The Sower Parable

On that day Jesus going out of the house sat beside the sea; the crowd gathering by him was so large that embarking he sat in a boat on the sea, and all the people stood on the beach.
He taught them many things in parables, and he said to them in his teaching, "Listen. The sower went out to sow his seed.In his sowing some fell along the way and were trampled under, and the birds of heaven came and ate them up.
"Others fell on rocky ground where they did not have much earth, and immediately they sprang up because of not having depth of earth; when the sun rose, they were scorched; and because of not having roots they dried up.
"Others fell in the middle of the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them; and they gave no fruit. "Others fell into the good earth and gave fruit; coming up and growing they produced thirty, sixty, and a hundred.Let the one who has ears to hear hear."
When he was alone, the ones around him with the twelve asked him about the parable. "He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the sovereignty of God, but to those outside all things are in parables, because looking they do not see and listening they do not hear nor understand. Fulfilled in them is the prophetic saying of Isaiah:
In listening you will hear and not understand, and watching you will look and not see.For fattened is the heart of this people, and they hardly heard with their ears, and they closed their eyes;lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with the heart and turn around, and I would cure them.
"But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For amen, I tell you that many prophets and just people wished to see what you see and did not see it, and to hear what you hear and did not hear it.Therefore you shall hear the parable of the sower."The sower sows the word of God. The ones along the way, when they hear the word and do not understand, the devil comes and snatches away what was sown in their hearts, lest believing they may be saved.
The smallest of all seeds
The disciples said to Jesus,"Tell us what the Reign of Heaven is like." He said to them, It is like a mustard seed, the smallest of all seeds. But when it falls on tilled soil, it produces a large plant and becomes shelter for birds of the sky." MK 4:30-32
The sower sows the word
The seeds falling on the road represent those who hear the word but dismiss it.
The seeds falling on the rocks represent those who hear the word, but only accept it shallowly.
The seeds falling on thorns represent those who hear the word, and take it to heart, but allow worldly concerns, such as money, to choke it.
The seeds falling on good soil represents those who hear the word, and truly understand it, causing it to bear fruit
No root in themselves

"What was sown on the rocky ground, when they hear the word, they immediately accept it with joy; yet they have no root in themselves but are temporary; when oppression or persecution occurs because of the word they immediately are offended.
"What was sown into the thorns, these are the ones hearing the word, and worries of the age and the deception of wealth and desires for the pleasures of life come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful and does not mature.
"What was sown on the beautiful earth, these are the ones hearing the word in a beautiful and good heart, and understanding they hold on to it and bear fruit with patience, some thirty, others sixty, and others a hundred.
"No one having lit a lamp hides it with furniture or puts it under a couch, but one puts it on a lampstand,so that those coming in may see the light.
"Know what is in front of you,and what is hidden from you will be revealed to you. For there is nothing hidden that will not become manifest, nor concealed that will not be know and come out into the open.
"Therefore watch how you listen and look at what you hear, for whoever has, it will be given to one, and one will have abundance; but whoever has not, even what one seems to have will be taken from one."

Born Again

#1. You have heard where Christ said, "Endure unto the end and you shall be saved." Be willing to endure the onslaughts of false beliefs as they rise up in protest against your decision to live in the here and now. Go to the very end of them and you will find eternal life.
#2. "My yoke is easy, my burden is light." VH commented on this today, saying how the spiritual life and a mind guided by heaven is free-flowing, easy and always enjoyable.
#3. Christ said, "What I do, you also can do." He wasn't talking about healing the lame and raising the dead. Shallow people always think that doing what Christ did means doing these things so that the world marvels at them. It means being in the same state that Christ lived in. This you can do!
#4. If you die to everything false IN YOU, you will be born again. Then you will know exactly what Christ meant when he said, "I can of myself do nothing, but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."
Parting of the Red Sea

#5. "Lo, I am with you always." This is a fact from the New Testament that you will know. No matter what happens to you, no matter where you are or what you are doing, you can turn immediately to this statement and know it is a fact. You can do more than know the words, you can live it. "Lo, I am with you always."
#6 Think of the "parting of the Red Sea" given in the Bible. True salvation is to be right in the middle of the Red Sea, knowing there is nothing you can do, and letting the Spirit of Truth suddenly break through. You ALLOW Intelligence enter the confusion.
#7 VH gave a special exercise tonight. He said that it is a quote from a sacred book that sums up everything we must do. That quote is: THY WILL BE DONE. Work with this, VH continued. Let it become your overall, dominating desire. No matter what situation you are in, want the spiritual Will to be your own.
The woman in the well
I think Jesus did this alot he would go from town to town teaching.. and the water wells was a good place where women would come everyday for water and he would talk to them about his father not in the sky but the kingdom of God is WITHIN he said to anyone who would listen to him.. these women would take him home and feed him with food and Jesus would feed them with his words he loved women and had alot of women followers and many men of course because Jesus respected them both a woman was his first disciple and it shows Jesus was not bias at all he was all goodThis puzzle is so beautiful!!

I Asked God

I asked God to take away my pain. God said, No. It is not for me to take away but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said, No. Her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations. It isn't granted. It is earned.
I asked God to give me happiness. God said, No. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain. God said, No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said no you must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said, No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things.
This is the best E-mail I ever gotten! it has no name.it says happiness is up to us I love this piece.
How Possible?
..'And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
This could not have ever happen!!!No way did Jesus say those words before he died not possible 'I don't doubt that Jesus went through trials and tribulations and was murdered for his teachings but at the end he did not question God no way ! instead he understood why they were killing him and he said 'father forgive them for they know not what they do' But what do you say
Did Jesus question God at His 'end' ?
Fetching blurbs now... please stand byNo Way!
RobertL says:
Our Savior did not doubt God, but he was tempted to disobey the Father, the struggle became so intense that his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luk 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Heb 4:15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

Yes and no (thats why I'm putting my answer on both). He wasn't questioning God, but in fact was asking God "Why". Jesus was so covered in sin, that God could not look at him. He had to turn his back on him. LaraineRose said it best, this had to happen to fulfill scripture. You know how you were always taught that Christ suffered like us? Well, here ya go...

I agree with lens4him. Matt 21 the chief priests and elders came to him while he was teaching and he told them the parable of the vineyard owner. Then 21:45 says they perceived he spoke of them. Also, why else would he have mourned over Jerusalem and said he would have gathered them as a hen gathers her chicks but they would not. ( shows choice)

Yes Way!!
faithlands says:
Jesus certainly said these words, and they are of course the words from Psalm 22. His Father did temporarily forsake Him, which was necessary because at the crucifixion Jesus "became sin," as the Apostle Paul pointed out in 2Corinthians 5:21. As to whether or not Jesus questioned God, this can be misleading. He did question God, but did as one who at that moment was separated from His Father for the first and only time in all eternity. He had become a curse (on our behalf!), and suffered the judgement of the Father against sin. Remember how much Job questioned God? And yet the scripture records that in all this questioning "Job did not sin nor did he blame God." There is a questioning that comes from a bitter heart that is really rejecting God, but there is a questioning that comes from honesty as we go through excruciating trials, and yet remains loyal to God. Jesus was tempted in all things like us (Hebrews 2:17,18), and can now come to our aid in whatever difficulty we face. He's been there. God is not threatened by our honest questioning, and it is not sin if our hearts remain loyal to Him.

I believe that Christ did pose the question, but it is not reflecetive of doubt. Christ became our scapegoat of sin and God have to turn away. That allowed Christ to experience what we naturally do - being separated from God and thus complete His "human experience".

I believe he did say those words. It didn't make him less holy, but more admirable, because while he was the Son of God, he was still trapped in human flesh. Jesus wasn't just going through the motions, He felt all the horror and trauma...for us. Those words prove just how painful it was, physically and mentally.

Jusus overcame all things, so God had to leave him for a moment so he could accomplish his mission. He felt our pain. Jesus was forsaken for us. This is something we will never know, even though we think we are forsaken at times. He never forsakes us.

Q & A

Q: So by daring to stand, a man actually learns to stand?
A: I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (Jesus)
On a personal note

Recently I met a Jesus I never knew before there are now 5 theories who Jesus was but in reality there was only one Jesus the rest are their own ideas and no reality to them they keep us in darkness until we do our own investigation to find the real Jesus takes work on our part too..
Reading his teachings until it brings us to understand the real meanings of his teaching not just memorizing scriptures not just words on paper but to go deep to their meaning behind.. 'And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free'.. of all the men I have studied and love..The real Jesus is my biggest surprise
