Can Golf Club Clones Help Improve Your Game?
Although they are budget-priced, the design and materials of a cloned club are generally comparable to, if not equal to, leading manufacturers.
Clone club manufacturers simply don't invent the technology -- but that doesn't mean they can't do a good job at reproducing, adapting and imitating it for golfers happy to take advantage of their bargain price and generally superior quality.
What is most often actually the "knock off" or "clone" part of the club is the head itself. Grips, shafts and other components usually come from the same sources used by a clone club manufacturer's brand-name counterpart.
Knock off clubs or clone clubs represent a very significant way to save for most golfers.
For example, compare prices on clubs such as these mentioned below with what you might pay for a ritzy "brand name" club of the same general quality and workmanship...

Pros and Cons of Knock Off Golf Clubs
What's the Bottom Line on Golf Club Clones?
The biggest one is price. You can usually save anywhere from 50% to 75% off the cost of a fancy brand-name counterpart without sacrificing much, if any, quality. With the big brand names, a large percentage of what you're paying for is all that marketing they had to do to convince you to want their club in the first place. Keep that money in your pocket and go with a clone instead.
About the only drawback with a knock off club is for the extremely image-conscious. Personally, we don't care if we're using a brand name or a clone -- and we KNOW our ball doesn't care.
Bottom line -- we'd have no reservations about going with a clone, as long as we got it from a reputable dealer like GolfIdeas mentioned above.
