Hidden in the trees up in the mountains of Elysburg, PA is a Wonderful Amusement Park
Knoebel's Amusement Park is a very popular vacation destination for many who live in Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas. Families reserve their spots in the cottages and campgrounds at least a year in advance to make sure they will get their space. Many great memories have been made at the Amusement Park and Water Park located inside and in the center of all the trees.
It is not necessary to camp at Knoebels to enjoy all it has to offer. You can stay at one of the many hotels locally and if you live close enough like me you can make a day trip.
My Trip to Knoebels

Last year we decided to take the kids to Knoebels Amusement Park. Everyone around me talks about it all the time so we had to check it out for ourselves. Even though we do not live far from Hershey Park it was time to try something new. The other great thing about the park that appeals to many is the cost. You only pay for what you ride. For me that is great - since I am a whimp and do not really like rides. I go on a small few just to make the kids happy. You cannot beat that - so for me it is FREE to get in and a minimal cost per ride if I choose to go on one. Most rides cost less than $1.50 each with maybe about 8 rides costing a bit more from $2.25 - $4.00. This is helpful for parents on a tight budget. You can just buy so many tickets and that is that. You can also opt to pay one price and get unlimited rides as well.
In addition to the great prices - Knoebel's is shaded by the huge trees that surrounds and that are within the park. So even on a hot day it stays pretty cool from the trees - yet another plus for me - I hate it when it gets so hot.
Also the food is also Budget Friendly - you do not seem to pay inflated prices on that either and you can choose to bring in your own to eat and they have lots of picnic tables for you to sit and enjoy. It really is very family friendly.
Our trip to the park last year was a wonderful experience - the kids had a great time and we met up with my in-laws there. There are rides for all ages and sizes and some really great Roller Coasters as well. The only issues we had was some horrible traffic on our way there - must have been an accident. Other than that there is no doubt we will go back again - still deciding if it will be this year.
