Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed it for the king and queen of Spain and you can tell by its perfect proportions and rich, soft leather that it achieved its purpose. Even though it looks like it is machine made, every single Barcelona chair is almost completely built by hand and requires very high craftsmanship.
