Knots Landing
Knots Landing is an American Prime Time Soap Opera that ran on CBS from 1979-1993. The series took place in a fictitious suburb of Los Angeles and focused around the lives of four married couples; Karen and Sid Fairgate, Val and Gary Ewing, Laura and Richard Avery and newlyweds Ginger and Kenny Ward. Knots Landing was partly a spin-off of Dallas with Gary Ewing, the brother of J.R. and Bobby Ewing(from Dallas) being one of the main Knots characters.

Some Major Characters
Some of the original cast members of Knots Landing included:
Ted Shackleford as Gary Ewing son of Jock and Ellie Ewing from Dallas and middle brother ( JR being the eldest and Bobby the youngest). Gary was married to Valene and father to Lucy and their twins Bobby and Betsy Ewing.
Joan Van Ark as Valene Ewing, was married to Gary a couple of times and also to Ben (played by Doug Sheehan). Best friends with Karen.
Michelle Lee as Karen Fairgate McKenzie was married to Sid Fairgate and then Mac McKenzie.Karen worked as a community activist and eventually at Knots Landing Motors and Lotus Point. Michele Lee was the only cast member to appear in all the episodes of the show (344).
Donna Mills played Abby Fairgate, Karen's sister-in-law and nemesis. Abby was the neighborhood trouble maker who initially broke up Gary and Val's marriage.
Kevin Dobson played Mac McKenzie, Karen's second husband and an attorney who also worked for the governor's office.
Douglas Sheehan as Ben Gibson was Val's husband in between her marriages to Gary.
Julie Harris as Lilimae Clements, Val's mother.

Gary Ewing
Gary Ewing was the black sheep of the Ewing family. His big brother JR didn't like Gary's wife Val, so Gary and Val moved to Knots Landing. Their oldest daughter Lucy ( Charlene Tilton) moved with them, but after a year, she moved back to Dallas.

Donna Mills
Donna Mills played Abby Fairgate younger and scheming sister of Sid Fairgate, Karen's first husband. It didn't take long for Abby to make the rounds with the men of Knots Landing including snaring Val's husband Gary Ewing.

Joan Van Ark
Joan Van Ark played the oft married, drama queen Valene Ewing on Knots Landing. It seemed like Val had issues in every episode, a tribute to what a great actress Joan was!
Julie Harris
Julie played Lilimae Clements, Val's mother.
Don Murray
Don Murray played Sid Fairgate, Karen's first husband who was also Abby's brother. Sid was killed off during the third season and Karen eventually met Mack McKenzie ( Kevin Dobson) the man who became her seond husband.

- I was (and still am!) a big Knots Landing fan! Loved the show when it was on, and would give my left thumb for WB to release seasons 3-14 on dvd. Great lens!

- This show was one of my big 3: Dallas and Falcon Crest being the other two. I wish they'd release the DVDs faster -- especially the Alec Baldwin episodes... I enjoyed this lens. Blessed.
