I think I had always known that there was information that the "powers that be" were not telling us, the public. Rich people knew something and they were not letting on.

How is money made?
If we look behind the scenes we find that money is being created by financial institutions, such as the banks. Banks no longer hold deposits equivalent to the amount that they lend. New money is created and issued by private banks as credit.

Something I hear a lot through Club channels is "Knowledge is Power". How right this is! When you know the secrets normally reserved for the "elite" in any society (no matter what country you may be in) you can empower yourself to a better life.
I think it is very important that people become aware of this information so that they put themselves into a position of power, particularly in the face of the economic storms ahead.

- As an educator at a leading UK business school I completely agree with the title statement of this lens. The critical question of course is 'knowledge of what'. I believe that the most powerful knowledge transcends the 'technical' knowledge of subjects and relates to meta knowledge about how to get things done, how to network with powerful an influential people, and how to gain and deploy power. That of course leaves aside how you ethically use the knowledge you have gained. Readers might be interested in the work of Michel Foucault in this regard.
