Soybean Sprout Soup
Fixing bean sprout is such an easy peasy. Toss in either raw or cooked in salad such as gado-gado (Indonesian salad), urap (Indonesian salad with coconut dressing), or into bakso soup, stir-fry dishes , as snack in goreng bakwan, asinan or acar, etc. Our favorite is in soup. Yes, Korean style soybean sprout soup or Kongnamul Guk. It is very light, very easy to fix and yet delicious. Perfect for busy people who like to enjoy home cooked meal. Great for cold winter too !. Enjoy.

Kongnamul Guk Recipe
How to make Korean Soybean Sprout Soup
- Serves: 4
- Prep Time: 5
- Total Time: 15
Ingredients
- 8 oz soybean sprouts
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 tsp chop garlic
- 7 cup water
- 15 dried anchovies
- dried kelp (3 x 3 inches)
- 3 scallion
- 1 red chili
Instructions
Wash and rinse the soybean sprouts and drain it. Discard any bad sprouts.
Wash the scallion and slice it thinly. Repeat the same preparation for red chili pepper. Discard the seeds if you do not like it.
Combine the dried anchovies, water and dried kelp in a pot then bring it to boil. Cover, lower the heat to simmer and let it about 5 minutes.
Add the garlic, salt, pepper, red chilies and soybean sprouts. Simmer for another 1 minute. Turn of the heat and ready to serve.
Garnish with scallion.
