- Great lens and so perfect for Squidoo.
Did Jules Vern have a Giant Squid in Seven Thousand Leagues Under the Sea That is that I remembered seeing that movie as a kid. That and Kirk Douglas. May not technically be a Kracken, but it sure is a Giant Squid!

- In 'The Natural History of Norway', the 12th century Bishop of Bergen described the Kraken as a floating island measuring one and a half miles across.
"It seems these are the creature's arms, and, it is said, if they were to lay hold of the largest man-of-war, they would pull it down to the bottom."
Probably the first recorded mention of the Kraken is in the Odyssey, when Odysseus has to pass Scylla's lair.

- Very nice lens. One more great reference for you - "The Kraken Wakes" by John Wyndham. He also wrote "Day Of The Triffids" and a number of other great books. This is a book well worth reading.
