I'm a big fan of his early stuff. By the late 1980s I thought his songs became too political.

Kris is a legend. Here is one of my favorite quotes from him, "If God made anything better than women, I think he kept it for himself."

What an awesome article! I had no idea he was a military man early on. I am so glad he choose to leave and gift us all with his remarkable talent!

Truly the way a bio lens should be done. Happy birthday to Kris Kristofferson! I remember seeing him in an interview where he talked about his family's reaction to his chosen career. It left me feeling rather cold thinking that his family would want to stifle this man's dreams. Goes to show, though, that a passion that great cannot be extinguished.

Kris is a great songwriter/ singer, has a very engaging personality, and has truly lived life to the fullest! Why Me Lord? is one of his greatest gifts to society. He is so personable, one feels as if he is an old friend. Having been a devoted fan of his for almost 40 years, I feel that I have seen his life play out through his songwriting. There is hardly ever a day that I don't listen to his music. He is a good actor also, but songwriting/singing are his greatest talents!

    I loved Lone Star
A talented man whom I will never forget.
You can bring my heart to a torn and shattered mess with the songs you write. I know of nobody else that works that magic on me about my relationships with the beautiful women in my life.

I have followed Kris for decades. Love his music. I saw him in concert 3 times. Rita and Kris are the best duo singers ever. I have most all of his CD's. God Bless Kris and God Bless America.

I would love to know the true story about the writing of "Why Me Lord" I have heard several stories in regards to the song "Help Me" written by Larry Gaitlin. I would appreciate any information any one has. I lost my husband 33 years ago and I had a friend sing "Why Me Lord" at his funeral. He always said that was his story.

Kris has been my favorite singer for a long time, everybody I know knows him as my true love. Some of my favorite songs have not been the most commercially successful ones. Every time I bought a new album I found a few new favorites.I absolutely Love all he does. He's made me a fan of others associated with him too. Especially Stephen Bruton I wish they would do an album of duets.God Love them both and keep them with us for a long long time.

I love all of Kris's songs but my top 3 favorites are Why Me Lord, Jesus Was A Capricorn and One More Time With Feeling. I've seen Kris in concert about 10 times and have talked to him after the concert each time. He is such a down to earth lovable guy. Not pretentious and always seems amazed that people like him so much. He's really a good looking guy, smart, funny, and intelligent! My kind of dream guy! I've always said that I would run away with him if he would just ask! I was going to do a lens on him but I couldn't do a better job than you have...thank you!

My parents were musicians; my father played all instruments and played with visiting bands in Orange Count.

I have never had a lesson the guitar, but what I know I had to learn on my own. A broad spectrum.
    I really needed a teacher, now I am 66.

Kris Is one of my favorite country wester entertainers, you guess who many others are ...

He is really great - a brilliant artist and outstanding personalitiy.
Isn't anybody out there in Hollywood to make a nice movie about him?
Of course, Bobby McGee is my favourite song and Help me make it through the night is it too, and Sunday morning coming down and Shipwrecked in the eighties and Road warrior's lanement and Lover please and Good love shouldn't feel so bad and and Here comes that rainbow again and Johnny Lobo and Somebody nobody knows and Mal Sacate and El Coyote and Why me, Lord and Please don't tell me how the story ends from the Austin Sessions album and ... Am I really supposed to list up all of them- think 1000 characters won't be enough and I haven't got his latest album yet (sorry, but I only discovered him and his music half a year ago and haven't bought all his albums yet...) I have uploaded 35 songs of him into my "favourites" file on my mp3 player to listen to them whereever I am.
I'm looking forward to seeing him in Berlin at the concert in July.
