The Krispy Kreme Burger Recipe

Also Known As The Lady's Brunch Burger on Paula's Home Cooking Show

An easy-to-prepare if-you-dare recipe, it should take about 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to cook.

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
3 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley leaves
2 tablespoons grated onion
House Seasoning, recipe follows
2 tablespoons butter
3 eggs
6 slices bacon, cooked
3 hamburger buns or 3 English muffins or 6 glazed donuts

DIRECTIONS:

Mix the ground beef, chopped parsley and grated onion together in a large mixing bowl. Season liberally, with House Seasoning. Form 3 hamburger patties.

Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Add the burgers and cook until desired temperature, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare.

Fry bacon in a hot pan until crisp. Remove and drain on paper towels. Set aside.

While burgers are cooking, heat a non-stick pan, over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons butter. Crack 3 eggs into the pan. Cook until the yolks are just set and still slightly runny and remove.

Place burger patties on English muffins or buns, and if desired, on glazed donuts, as the buns. Top each burger with 2 pieces of bacon and a fried egg.

HOUSE SEASONING:

1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder

Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

Serves three people.

Krispy Kreme Burger -- Do You Think That Restaurants Should Be Allowed Make Temptations Like This One?

Do you think that restaurants should be allowed to create items like the Krispy Kreme Cheddar Bacon Cheeseburger of Delight despite the health implications?

Loading Fetching blurbs now... please stand by

Yes. If people want it, I think they should be able to make it.

Anon says:

Why the hell should we dictate whether a restaurant can serve food in a tasty combination when all the food is perfectly legal?

Therob007 says:

It's something I'd try and never eat again. I've done that before, the Monster Thickburger from Hardess, for example. It was good but I know its very unhealthy. Have to try it at least once though. People have to chose from themselves if they want to eat it or not. That's the free market for you.

Therob007 says:

That's the beauty of the free market, new products bring in money. I'd eat it once and never have it again. I did the same with the Hardees Monster Thickburger (the one with over 1000 calories). I know it's bad for me, but having it once is not going to hurt me. I'd want to try it just for the curiosity factor.

SoyCandleLover-Maker says:

Well, we should be able to eat what we want in moderation, but maybe a Surgeon General's warning would suffice. :D

carredsal says:

Absolutely!

CrypticFragments says:

Why not? It's up to the individual to know when they can splurge! I try to eat fresh natural ingredients as much as possible but sometimes ya just gotta go for it!

momto4 says:

Yes, absolutely! People should be allowed to make their own decisions on what they want to eat.

Mickie_G says:

I should say "no", but sometimes one just has a "need" to give into a craving for something that is not-so-good-for-you!

Janet says:

THAT'S THE BEAUTY OF FREEWILL!!! WE ALL HAVE THE POWER TO SAY, "YES" or "NO". NO ONE IS SHOVING FOOD DOWN OUR THROATS. WE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS.

Greg says:

Of course. This isn't Nazi Germany; if you want to make an unhealthy treat for yourself or consenting customers, you should be able to do it. On a side note, I also think that people should be able to commit suicide and use whatever drugs they so desire. I guess I just love freedom.

No, I think the health implications are simply too big.

Intuitive says:

Well, since this is a democracy they should be free to do whatever. But, on the other hand, I think all junk food should be outlawed, at least the premade kind. And hospitals should serve only healthy food in their cafeterias and to their patients. In a perfect world, that is.

Greg says:

NO! This should be illegal, even to make at home. People cannot be trusted to make the right choices; the government must step in to help them. Making this legal is like making marijuana legal -- people should not be allowed to make bad choices for themselves.

Bobby Flay's Burgers, Fries, and Shakes

"A cheeseburger with fries and a shake. Done right, it doesn't get much better than that. Toward that end, here are tips on the best meat, potato and ice cream to employ, and instruction on the preferred ways to grill, deep-fry and blend. Full-page, full-color photos make options like the Greek burger (with feta cheese and Greek yogurt) and the garlic butter burger even more seductive than their toppings do already. There are fries of every thickness and even onion rings get their due. Both beer-battered and buttermilk are explored. Of course, Flay wouldn't be Flay without a chapter on condiments and seasonings so chipotle ketchup, red chili mustard and 14 others are at hand. Another reason why this collection is so satisfying: put the word milkshake in the name of any recipe and there is no turning away. Blackberry cheesecake milkshake is a must-have before even knowing that cream cheese and lemon zest are involved. The peanut butter-banana-marshmallow milkshake is puffed with Marshmallow Fluff, while the peach Bellini milkshake uses a blend of whole milk and peaches instead of ice cream, and is set afizz with Champagne."

Ruby Ann's Down Home Trailer Park BBQin' Cookbook

"Free of the restraints of haute cuisine, the Michelin guide and roofed kitchens in general, Boxcar weighs in with highly entertaining recipes and helpless hints, straight from her double-wide trailer at the High Chaparral Trailer Park in Pangburn, Ark. It should be noted that the term barbecue, in this context, refers to anything edible that has come into contact with a heat source in the out-of-doors. The results are rarely pretty but make for the kind of entertaining reading often associated with milk coming out of one's nose. It is here that one discovers how to cook in a lightning storm ("send someone else out to flip the burgers.")
