Kristin Kreuk

This site is dedicated to a very talented Canadian born actress named Kristin Kreuk.

She was born December 30, 1982. Her credits include Smallville, Eurotrip, The Legend of Earthsea and Partition. She has new projects coming out as well that are not limited to the entertainment industry.

It's probably noticed Kristin Kreuk does not do much press, photoshoots, or like media functions often to support projects. She's one for a more quiet life living peacefully in her home in Vancouver.

I hope to do her work and her justice with this site. She's incredibly talented with bubbling under and untapped talent yet to be seen.

Edgemont

Her Start

Kristin Kreuk started her career coming out of high school acting with a teen soap called Edgemont.

She played Laurel Yeung, a Chinese-Canadian student at Edgemont High School. Edgemont ran for 5 seasons.

On the show she worked with some other future well known actors like Daniella Evangelista and Grace Park.

The DVD collections of the show were in limited release so are very hard to find. This Lensmaster bought his copy straight from the official website at Edgemont.tv.

What is great about Edgemont is how you can watch her develop and get better from season to season. During the filming of Edgemont she landed the role most probably know her for, and shot both at the same time for a short bit, Smallville.

Smallville

An Iconic Role

Kristin landed the role of Lana Lang on the WB's Smallville. Smallville is about a young Clark Kent growing up and discovering his powers, what it's like to be human, and what it's like to be alien as well.

The WB and CW merged during Smallville's run turning into the CW Network. Smallville was a show to survive this transition of cuts and balances due to it's large fan following.

Smallville became the focal show that made Kristin's name known in the States. Much of the work and coverage she gets on Entertainment Shows never leave their country as was the case with her.

With her catapulting success Kristin stuck more underground and to herself. Her want to maintain a private life is constant through the lack of coverage her of compared to others at her same level of success.

While filming Smallville, but after Edgemont, Kristin took some parts in movies.

Snow White: The Fairest of Them All

Her first project was called Snow White: The Fairest of Them All(2001). It was designed to be an updating of the classic tale, with Kristin as Snow White.

DVDs for this movie can sometimes be hard to come across as well since it was a made-for-TV movie.

Eurotrip

In 2004 Kristin took the role of the slutty Fiona in the comedy Eurotrip. She played the cheating ex-girlfriend of the movie's main character.

In this movie she also danced to the infectious and instantly known song of "Scotty Doesn't Know" in the graduation party. A defining moment of sexiness for young Kristin, it still follows her to this day and is one of the rare moments you really see how sexy she can be when she wants to be.

The Legend of Earthsea

In 2004 Kristin did another made-for-TV movie called The Legend of Earthsea. It played in 2 parts on the Sci-Fi Channel.

The movie was based on the book series of the same name. Kristin played Tenar. The movie follows Ged in his journey to becoming a sorcerer where he fights dragons, finds love, and even crosses the line of death.

This movie is the second time Kristin worked with Shawn Ashmore. Previously, he worked with her on a guest role on Smallville in the episode "Leech" and again in "Asylum".

Partition

Kristin did Partition in 2007. Partition uses the 1947 partitioning of India and Pakistan toward the end of the second World War as the setting for the movie.

"Determined to leave the ravages of war behind, 38 year old Gian Singh (Jimi Mistry) resigns from the British Indian Army to a quiet life. His world is soon thrown in turmoil, when he suddenly finds himself responsible for the life of a 17 year old girl, traumatized by the events that separated her from her family. Slowly, resisting all the taboos, Gian finds himself falling in love with the vulnerable Naseem (Kristin Kreuk) and she shyly responds. In a moving and epic story, woven into a rich and exotic tapestry, they battle the forces that haunt their innocent love, fighting the odds to survive in a world surrounded by hate."

This movie was shot entirely in Canada and came out in limited theater release. It also boasts an impressive score to fit the tone and atmosphere of the movie.

Some Past Projects of Kristin Kreuk

Smallville and others

Kristin Kreuk always seems to have something she's done some time back ready to go.

Her time on Smallville has now ended. She has said she is open to returning for the series finale if there is something interesting for Lana to do. Barring that, she is gone from the show, and truly, an era has ended.

What She's Done:

Dream Princess (2006)
Getting Back To America (2007)
Energy-Saving Team (2007)
Girls By Design
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li (Feb. 27th, 2009)

The Energy-Saving Team is a local project in Vancouver, BC, where she lives that she endorses with other celebrities to conserve energy.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

The movie is now in wide release! Go check out and write a review in our comments section.

Kristin Kreuk really made this movie work in my opinion. She made Chun Li real and human and held her own in all the fight scenes.

Opinions of other characters vary, such as Bison, Charlie and Maya. This movie went a longer way in giving Chun Li a story as close to canon as she's ever had, to me. Her rage for Bison killing her father is clearly played out on screen.
