William J. Bennett is an American conservative pundit, politician, political theorist, and author. His bestselling books include The Educated Child, The Death of Outrage, The Book of Virtues, and America: The Last Best Hope. He graduated from Williams College, then went on to earn a Ph.D. in political philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School. Dr. Bennett served as Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President George H. W. Bush and as Secretary of Education and Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities under President Ronald Reagan. In 2004, Bill Bennett embarked on yet another career in radio broadcasting. He currently hosts a nationally syndicated radio program produced and distributed by Salem Communications.
