Krypto, also known as Krypto the Superdog, is a fictional character. He is Superman's pet dog in the various Superman comic books published by DC Comics. Krypto's first appearance was in a Superboy story in Adventure Comics #210 in March 1955.

Krypto the Superdog is an American animated television series produced by DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation, based on the DC Comics character Krypto. The show premiered on Cartoon Network in March 25, 2005 and aired on Kids' WB! in September 2006.
A comic book series (based on the TV show) was published by DC Comics under the Johnny DC imprint, which lasted 6 issues, from 2005 to 2006. Unlike most superhero cartoons, the show appeals to young children.

The Dark Hound
The comic book character Ace the Bat-Hound was the canine crime-fighting partner of Batman and Robin in DC Comics of the 1950s and 1960s. Ace debuted in Batman #92 (cover-dated July 1955). Ace's creation was inspired by the success of Krypto's debut in Adventure Comics #210 (July 1955), and by German Shepherd Dogs from detective films and serials, such as Rin Tin Tin and Ace the Wonder Dog. He was created by writer Bill Finger and artist Sheldon Moldoff.
