Kyle Rowe
While working as supervisor of a fish hatchery in Washington, Kyle Rowe entered and won an amateur painting competition. It was at that point he decided to concentrate on art full time. An avid fly fisherman, his work focuses on game fish and scenes of fly fishermen pursuing their obsession. Along the way, Kyle Rowe has added more than 20 fishing paintings to his list of credits. His published work includes state fishing stamps and a series of limited edition prints.
One of Kyle Rowe's favorite paintings is entitled "Quiet Morning On Lake Spokane." He was inspired by the lake's solitude and serenity. Kyle Rowe grew up near Lake Spokane and has observed the lake from various perspectives throughout the year.
"You can look at Lake Spokane a million times but you'll never see the same picture twice," Kyle Rowe says.
Another one of Kyle Rowe's favorite paintings is "Quillayute River At Dusk." Kyle Rowe painted this work during one of his darkest times of his life, during a battle against prostate cancer. Kyle Rowe has since recovered successfully. His memory of the Quillayute River gives him inspiration to this day.
Kyle Rowe is also a family man and has four children and 16 grandchildren. "Having a family has been the greatest joy of my life," Kyle Rowe says. He has taught all of his children to fish as well as to paint. Kyle Rowe also values the time that he and his wife can share thanks to his flexible schedule.
Kyle Rowe expects to continue painting for many more years. "It's a nice place to be," Kyle Rowe says. "It took a long time to get here but I have enjoyed every second of the journey. And there's always another fish."
