Hi, I'm a customer of Kyoto Antiques and you should be one too!

Arguably Kyoto Antiques has to be my favorite eBay seller. And oddly, though they are in Japan, they are also the fastest shipper I've ever dealt with. I found them in May of 2008, and since that time (as of August 2008) have bought 6 items from them. Each item arrived at my home exactly 3 days after I paid for it! OMG! Stuff I buy from sellers in the US doesn't even ship that fast!

Best of all kyoto.antique deals in antique fabrics from Japan, which I rabidly seek out for sewing my costumes, so I'm likely to continue buying from kyoto.antique every few weeks for the rest of my life. This is my lens devoted to them.

Super Fast Shipping!

as of August 16, 2008, I have a new fastest shipping seller: I won it on August 12, 2008, kyoto.antique of Japan shipped my item out on August 14, 2008, it arrived in my Post Office on August 16, 2008, and I had it in my hands by 10PM August 17, 2008! Meaning with 2 days from Koyoto Japan to Maine USA, kyoto.antique has won the record of being the fastest shipper I've ever dealt with anywhere, either on eBay or off eBay!

And thanks to them I now have the fabric I need to sew my Lord Sesshomaru costume! YAY!

Rinzu Silk

I love Rinzu Silk. It is a very soft, light weight, extremely drabable type of silk, best used for summer kimono or as a lining for heavier silk.

Note: As is the natural nature of silk, Rinzu Cloth has a slight tint to it, and thus white Rinzu is note a pure white, but rather a very pale ivory color. It is easily dyed any color.

It is Rinzu silk which I used for my Lord sesshomaru costume, for his Red kimono, blue kimono, and lilac his heko-obi (sash).

Shibori Cloth

Shibori is a type of tie-dye which creates amazing designs on a background of silk.

Tancochirimen Silk

I love Tancochirimen Silk. It has a soft buttery hand to it and a delicate floral weave. It is a medium weight silk which can be used unlined for a summer kimono, or lined for a winter kimono. It is reputed to be among the highest quality silk there is, and costs a bit more than other types of silk.

Note: White Tancochirimen Silk is not actually white, but a creamy ivory color, a bit darker in shade than Rinzu Silk, which is the natural color of the silk.

It is Tancochirimen Silk that I used for my Lord Sesshomaru costume, for the pink court robes.

Lovely lens! I've never heard of Kyoto Antiques, although I did buy a kimono IN Kyoto once.... monthly flea market at Kiyomizu Dera (temple) when I was a university student, my friends and I went every month. One time, I picked up two kimonos ~ lovely lovely, for sure!

I've lensrolled this to four of my lenses about Japan/Japanese ~ and now I know where to buy some beautiful kimono fabric! Great job! 5*
