Our Labrottie Puppy

Meet Thunder!

His "official" breed is Labrottie. He looks enough like a black Lab so that our friends aren't too scared of him, and enough like a Rott so that strangers are scared of him.

We've had him for one and a half years now and we love him even though he is a dufus! He still needs to be exercised at least a half hour every day or he gets into trouble.

He's does well with our children. They love to play with him and I love the protection that he gives them.

I'm the mother of the house.

My name is Jendi and besides loving my husband and taking care of my 4, 6, and 8 year old - I make sure that the dog, cat, and rabbit are taken care of. The total amount of pets I've had is small. These were spread out over years - 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, several fish, and 2 rabbits. I think that every home should have some sort of pet - even if it's only a turtle.

We Got Thunder When He Was 8 Weeks Old

When our kids were 3, 5, and 7 we got an eight week old puppy. We visited the house where the puppies were and got to see the Labrador father, Rottweiler mother, two girl puppies, and one boy. Our son picked the boy puppy because he said our house needed another boy.

The first thing we did was take him to the Pet Store and buy him a bright red collar and leash.

2. keep you more active,
3. lend a sympathetic ear,
4. alert you when something is not right, and
5. warm your feet. :)

    Our 10 year old Labrottie has been a dream! She's the most inuitive, loving, clown we've ever had. Would love to find another some day. ?

    (just in case you're wondering, it's only been in the past year she's had any health issues, hypothyroidism. No arthiritis, perfect hearing, spectacular vision, but she still sleeps on the coach first chance she gets, lol! ;P)

    I have a 11 month female labrottie who I got from a dog shelter at 17 weeks old. Words cannot describe the love I have for my girl, she is the light of my life, we seem to have a connection in that she knows what I want her to do without even giving a command all I have to give is eye contact and she understands. Although I do have another dog the connection and bond is sadly nowhere near close. Labrotties really are mans best friend!

    Yes, Angel (whom you have met via her lens) and Sebastian, the fat cat. They truly are an important part of our family. Thunder seems like an awesome pup - thanks for sharing about him. =D
