Look Stylish on the Golf Course With the Latest Ladies Golf Accessories!
Look stylish on the golf course, but don't break the bank. There are many options in ladies golf apparel, shoes and accessories from which to choose, certainly more now than in the past.
Find out what to look for in ladies golf accessories, which range from golf apparel and shoes to golf balls, divot tools, ball markers, golf gadgets, and even golf GPS and rangefinders.
Some are necessities, some you just want because they're the hippest things to have.
Some accessories help you improve your golf game and yet others are needed to increase the level of your comfort.
Look for good deals on ladies golf accessories so you can play the game more frequently - playing is really the point of the game.
Don't just look for good deals - you must shop for comfort to make sure you are able to focus and enjoy your golf game.
Use the convenience of shopping on line because you can shop smart and compare prices so much easier than driving from store to store.
I have purchased many golf items online: golf gloves, shoes, clubs and even golf push-carts with great success!
The trick to finding the good deals is to shop before the season gets underway; so spring is the time to get started for all of us who live in the colder regions of the United States. The end of the season can bring about good deals, but you're limited to what's left in inventory.

Girls on the Golf Course
Girls can build lasting friendships while learning a competitive game they can play for years to come. Golf has been a means for doing business and building business relationships in the corporate world. In the past, this has given men the leg-up over women.
Girls who grow up with the knowledge of the golf game learn patience, values and leadership that transfer from golf into the business world. Read "The First Tee 2003-2008 Impact Report" to find out the impact golf has on teaching life skills.
Start your daughter in a First Tee Program in your area. Although the programs typically service ages 8-18, several chapters offer modified programs for younger participants.
LPGA-USGA Girls Golf for ages 7-17.

What to Look for in Ladies Golf Gloves
Golf gloves are essential to keep from getting calluses. Purchase a glove for your non-dominant hand; so, if you're right-handed, buy a golf glove for your left hand. The glove should fit snugly enough that it doesn't shift when you swing the club, but not too snug that you can't bend your hand around the shaft.
There are all sorts of glove styles and colors from which to choose, especially for women. Half-finger gloves are great for ladies with long and/or manicured nails. You don't have to worry about stretched-out glove tips or constriction of the tips of your fingers from the gloves. I have poked holes in the tips of my perfectly good leather gloves. Made of Microfit spandex mesh across the back, a breathable material, these shorty gloves are also good in the hot weather.

There are also inexpensive, colorful synthetic leather gloves to choose from if you appreciate a bit of whimsy. You can select solid or multi-colored golf gloves.

There is nothing wrong with going with the tried-and-true standard leather ladies golf glove. A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of ladies golf accessories with the breast cancer emblem goes to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Be Prepared on the Golf Course When it Rains

A good golf umbrella is a must. And yes, there is a big difference between a standard and a
golf umbrella. There's usually nothing on the golf
course blocking the rain, so a nice large umbrella keeps you from getting soaked. Golf umbrellas also don't turn inside out as readily as a standard umbrella will.
A handy little gadget to have is an umbrella holder that clips on to your golf cart handle. It can hold your umbrella in place while you run for cover.
Keep a rain jacket in your golf bag in the event there is a torrential downpour - it will keep you protected and also serve as a windbreaker. If it gets cool, once again, there's nothing to block the wind and it can feel much more intense on the course.
What to Look for in Golf Shoes and Shoe Accessories

Dressy or casual, there are all sorts of golf shoes to choose from according to your taste. Many of the golf shoes and sandals have a special type of sole that can be worn on and off the course.
Soft rubber-spiked golf shoes are the most popular today, versus the metal spikes that used to be the norm. The soft spikes do less damage to the playing surface and indoor flooring as well. Look for a good sturdy shoe and sole that provides good traction and inhibits a lot of ankle movement. You can purchase a traditional rigid golf shoe or an athletic-type shoe that looks like a sneaker. Whatever style of shoe you end up purchasing, improve the longevity of your spikes by avoiding hard surfaces such as cement, which wears the spikes down.
Off for a quick business or weekend trip and don't want to pack those bulky golf shoes? Pack your flexible traction soles; you can slip them on practically any type of shoe and wear them on the golf course (very cool!).
Protect your floor surfaces with Golfskins soles which can be slipped over your golf shoes.
Protect your golf shoes and socks in a nice golf shoe bag.
Golf Course Necessities
These tips may sound simple, but you will find out just how necessary any one of these items are if you forget one.
You must have a good pair of sunglasses for the sun, which can be blinding on a sunny day.
While it's popular for people to drink beer or one of those sugary drinks, water or sports drinks are better choices. Keep a reusable water bottle handy in your bag or golf cart.
Absolutely be prepared and keep a small First Aid Kit on hand for small injuries or bee stings.
Minimus The Foursome - Golf Accessories Kit
Now I think this is really cool. This is a handy golf accessories kit which includes Golf wipes, Banana Boat Sport Sunblock SPF 30, 1st step for Energy Multi-Vitamin Mineral Supplement with Citrus Burst flavor, 71 vitamins and minerals, ready to drink, and Dry Hands: The Ultimate Gripping Solution, which repels water and perspiration; a non-sticky gripping solution for hot, humid or rainy conditions.
Ladies, I'm sure you can relate - a good sports bra is a MUST, MUST, MUST!! Ever have an under-wire poke you under your arm while you're trying to swing the club? And there is nothing more irritating or distracting than having a falling bra strap and underwear you have to pull and tug while trying to maintain your composure in the hot weather. Wear comfortable underwear to help make your time on the golf course as enjoyable as possible.

Golf Gadgets
Please sign my guestbook
.Yes, ladies, you too can indulge in golf gadgets to help your golf game! From a swing glove training aid to help get a feel for the proper wrist alignment to a dual-hinged iron to help you work on your swing, get the help you need improving your driving skills to make your game as enjoyable as possible.
The dual hinged irons help you to keep your swing in tempo, while helping you prevent hooks and slices. You can improve upon your consistency and control. With continual practice, you will develop muscle memory so you can repeat the same controlled swing on the course.
The MLH Swing Glove Training Aid has a removable, rigid wrist guide which helps set the wrist firmly upon ball impact. It's one of the most important in golf mechanics to keep the wrist firm and aligned properly for good follow-through. The guide can be removed after you get a good feel for correct wrist alignment.
According to its Press Release "The Swing Detective positions two different colored LED lights (red and green) directly over the "sweet spot" of a golf club's face, creating vibrant light traces simultaneously when the club is swung. Based on the path of these traces and how they overlap at the swing's impact point-the critical point that determines ball flight-the Swing Detective instantly shows why the golfer may have a tendency to slice or hook his or her shots."
"...The Swing Detective makes finding and correcting your swing faults easy by boiling things down to two critical elements: your swing path and your clubface angle at impact. Once the light traces make it obvious where those two things are going wrong, you can also immediately see how to fix them. Use the Swing Detective to start squaring the clubface at the point of impact, and you'll build a consistently long, straight ball flight."
Snacks on the Golf Course
You may be tempted to eat a candy bar, hot dog or potato chips to alleviate those hunger pangs. DON'T!! The quick insulin surge will leave your body feeling lethargic after that initial rush of energy. The BEST snacks to eat on the course are: bananas and protein sources such as nuts and jerky. Other fruits are sources of natural sugar and are good snacks as well. Bananas replenish your potassium and keep your muscles from cramping.
Hydrating on the Golf Course

The importance of hydrating on the golf course cannot be stressed enough! Water is vital to proper functioning of your body, but you lose more than just water when you perspire during an intense activity in the direct sun.
Replacing Electrolytes
When you golf (or participate in any active outdoor activity) for more than 2 hours in the heat of the sun, you start losing electrolytes through sweat. Electrolytes, comprised of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, hydrogen carbonate and chloride, are vital compounds responsible for regulating nerve and muscle function, blood pressure and pH levels. They have electrical charges and are used to conduct electricity throughout the body. They are also important in the repair of damaged tissue.
Signs of electrolyte deficiency are sudden fatigue or muscle weakness or cramping.
Have you ever had a "Charlie Horse" (an aggressive tightening of your leg or foot muscle) and you were told to take salt or salt tablets? The problem with ingesting salt is, although it does work to alleviate the cramping in many cases, swollen hands and feet from water retention can result, not to mention the fact that too much sodium throws the balance of blood sodium levels off.
Eating raw fruits and vegetables is the best way to replace electrolytes. Sports drinks, however, are the most immediate
way to replenish those vital electrolyes while you are actively engaged in your golf game. I opt for the more eco-conscious sports drink mix that I mix in a bpa-free sports bottle.
You Don't Want to Drink Too Much Because You Don't Want to Use the Port-a-Potties
Ladies, if you're like me, you don't like using the port-a-potties on the course. Put that out of your mind! On a hot day in the sun, you MUST hydrate! Chances are, you will not even have to use the facilities because you are sweating out the fluids you're putting into your body; but if you have to go, you just have to go. Keep tissue and hand-wipes in your golf bag at all times for those instances when you're forced to use it.
Take it from me - I know firsthand. I have become weak and dehydrated 3 times on golf courses - once in the Bahamas (crazy, humid and hot), once in Florida (also pretty darned hot as well as humid) and once in Chicago (my hometown and also danged hot and humid that day!). I take measures to make sure it will not happen again.
I keep a wet towel handy to wipe my face and neck and my sports drink in a cooler with ice, when I am crazy enough to golf on those extremely hot days. I just love playing golf, so I am willing to go out even when I know my game is not going to be up to par. The crazy heat seems to make my muscle coordination go out the window, but it is definitely improved when I remain hydrated throughout the game.

Keep the mosquitoes Away!

Practice safety on the golf course by keeping the mosquitoes away naturally. Mosquitoes carry the West Nile virus and it is wise to keep them at bay. If there is any standing water on the golf course after a rain, be certain there will be plenty of mosquitoes. Skip the nasty toxic insecticides and opt for more natural repellents that really do work. There are certain scents mosquitoes just do not like.
What can be easier than your standard fabric dryer sheets? In addition to drying your clothes with them, carry a few extra sheets in your golf bag to rub on your clothes when mosquitoes are a nuisance.
Lemon Eucalyptus Oil is another option that also has a nice fragrance, but one the mosquitoes do not like.
Perfect Your Short Game
Find a Par 3 course and play it to perfect your short game. You will have to focus your shots to par the short holes. You will get an opportunity to use your irons more often. Both of these factors will help your overall golf game.

What Golf Courses in Your Area are Eco-Friendly?
There is currently a growing consciousness about the need to run golf courses in an eco-friendly manner. More courses are being developed covering landfills and some purify waste water from nearby sewage treatment plants.
Golf course architects now recognize that it is most important to enhance the natural environment of the course surroundings rather than bulldoze in order to keep the displacement of wildlife to a minimum.
They are also incorporating the preventative Integrated Pest Management system, in which native plants are selected to prevent pests from damaging the grounds, an eco-friendly solution to pesticides.
Water management and conservation is a challenge many golf courses face, especially those in the desert areas of the country; but it's one that they have to now address.
The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses helps people "enhance the valuable natural areas and wildlife habitats that golf courses provide, improve efficiency, and minimize potentially harmful impacts of golf course operations, the program serves as vital resource for golf courses."
