Lady Gaga was born in New York City on March 28, 1986 as Stephani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. Yes, Lady Gaga is merely her stage name. She was once the typical teenage girl who hung out with friends and went to school dances.Germanotta began her music career at the age of 3 playing piano. She went on to playing in musicals in high school years. Though, she loved starring in plays, she felt like a freak in highschool. She just didn't fit in with other students that dressed normal.
At 17 years old, Stefani attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She lived in a NYU dorm with other girls while she studied music. She dropped out second semester to pursue her dreams of becoming a famous music star. While she pursued this dream, she lived in the cheapest apartment she could find and ate junk until people would listen. Obviously people took notice because look where she is today!
Still, before she discovered her Lady Gaga persona, she developed the Stefani Germanotta Band with pals from NYU. They became a HOT act on the Lower East Side club scene while recording at a studio beneath a liquor store. This is where Gaga felt she found herself.
