Regardless of their similarities, I wonder....who has more raw talent: Lady Gaga or Madonna?
Madonna came first, but does that mean she is more talented? Perhaps Lady Gaga is more talented, but since she has so many similarities to Madonna, is it all her talent, or is she sub-consciously borrowing from her predecessor (or worse yet consciously doing so).

Cringing so hard at everyone who voted Madonna saying Gaga wouldn't be a household name, or that Gaga's a copycat. What has any of that got to do with talent? Gaga has much more talent. Her voice is FAR superior, she is classically trained on the piano, she coproduces all her music, is a much more promising songwriter, designs outfits and stage productions/props etc... Hell, even her dancing is better than Madonna's repetitive moves.

Lady Gaga. Just watch her perform her songs like You And I, Speechless, or The Edge Of Glory. People only judge her off of her sex-driven songs like Lovegame and her bizarre fashion. They just throw her off as a gimmick, but she's much more than that.

Lady Gaga has more raw talent. Back in the 80s it got to the point where everything was just SEX SEX SEX (With Madonna). Lady Gaga is actually capable of preforming/writing great dance songs and ballads. Lady Gaga can do country, jazz, rock, pop! As an artist Lady Gaga adapts to all sorts of music. So basically Lady Gaga has more raw talent than Madge. End of story.

Gaga does. Listen to her voice. Look at her play the piano. She writes all of her songs. Her songs are fantastic. She is utterly creative. She's brought masks and performance art and theater to pop. She's a gagoddess! And I've always loved Madonna but...Gaga really does have more talent!

It's hard to say. Madonna showed no talent at all, as far as I'm concerned, on her first few albums - at least not as a songwriter or singer. Gaga shows far more raw talent than that. However, after years of single-minded determination, Madonna has reinvented herself and has for many years been a thoughtful and creative lyricist and a truly talented songwriter and performer. Gaga shows no lack of determination. Only time will tell. But for "raw" talent, I have to give it to Gaga. Hat's off to Madonna for becoming talented, but Gaga is starting her career, no matter how much she borrows from the past, with more intrinsic talent that Madonna did.

I really hate it that people even compare the two. Certainly they both go for the shock value, but Madonna was never just sick-over-the-top like Gaga. Would Madonna have worn a meat dress? No. Did she sing and dance about murdering everyone in a diner like Gaga? No. Did she wear a red plastic dress and red eye-patch makeup to meet the queen? No. (Google "Gaga meets the Queen" and "Madonna meets the Queen" to see the difference). Gaga is, IMO, 99% shock and 1% talent. Madonna is one of the all-time greats.

- I grew up on Madonna. Lady Gaga reminds me of her in so many ways. I recently heard Born This Way and immediately thought it sounded like Madonna's Express Yourself. I don't know who has more raw talent, but I like them both. I might like Madonna a bit more since we've been together for so long. I think Lady Gaga has a long and bright future ahead of her.
