Who is Lady GaGa?
I was introduced to Lady GaGa by my 7 year old daughter. Lady GaGa's music brings with it a beat that I love. Stefani Germanotta the name behind Lady GaGa cites a lot of 80s icons as her influences and I think it really shows in the music.
My daughter asked if I could go onto Youtube and find Lady GaGa for her. She told me the song was called Just Dance and when I repeated Lady GaGa's name back to her my husband nodded to let me know she'd got the right song.

Being in a bit of a 'stirring' mood I uploaded this video in youtube for her
She was not amused!
I have since heard that Queen was one of Lady GaGa's influences and she plays homage to them with her name................................my daughter doesn't quite believe me about this, but I swear it's true!Lady GaGa actually cites Queen, Madonna and David Bowie among her inspiration, all acts that I love which is why it doesn't surprise me that I am really enjoying her songs and I hope she has a long and successful musical career. Critics have said that Lady GaGa's music has the old school new wave feel and I think I have to agree. That is why the songs are so catchy.
Like anyone who cites Bowie and Madonna as influences Lady GaGa says that she's really into fashion and believes that fashion and music are interwined. She creates her own clothes and before releasing her own record she teamed up with Lady Starlight on New York's Lower East Side. Lady Starlight is a performance artist, DJ and go-go dancer. Together the two Lady's collaborated in performance art pieces under the name Lady GaGa and The Starlight Revue.

Just Dance is the title track off of Lady GaGa's debut album, it was also her first single. The tune is really catchy and has a good beat to it, it really is something that you want to "just dance" too! It is amazing then that Lady GaGa says it was written in about five minutes.............................maybe she was exagerating? She does say that it has some very autobiographical parts to it and is about going out with her friends partying.
In the studio when Just Dance was being written were RedOne, Akon and Lady GaGa and according to an interview Lady GaGa had with adem RedOne played the synth and she started singing Just Dance and then she looked at RedOne and said what if this song was about getting drunk? Like being too drunk at a party........
This leads to lyrics that Lady GaGa believes young people can relate to - where are my keys, I've lost my phone.

When Lady GaGa was signed to Interscope she was partnered up with singer-songwriter Akon. Akon is the person who is credited with recognising Lady GaGa's vocal talent, he also helped to get RedOne to work with her. RedOne worked as producer on Lady GaGa's album. Haus of GaGa
Lady GaGa believes that music and fashion are interwined and wants to give her fans the whole package which is where the Haus of GaGa came in to being. Lady GaGa likens herself to Andy Warhol and the Haus of GaGa is her version of Warhol's Factory. Basically Haus of GaGa is Lady GaGa's collective who work on Lady GaGa's clothing, stage sets and sounds - her own personal team. Everyone is under 26 and we do everything together.
The team includes Lady GaGa's ex Dada and friends of hers from art school.
Lady GaGa is planning to start her own range of clothes in 2009, one thing's for sure her clothes will be a far cry from her mother's style. Lady GaGa says that her mother inspired her love of fashion as she was always dressed in designers, but her tastes were classic Italian; a far cry from the unconventional, hardly there clothing that GaGa prefers.

- she is my favorite artist. she is inspiring me to follow my dream of being in the music business like making the background tracks of songs and singing. her vocals are beautiful and amazing. her VMA performance was OUTSTANDING along with her The Fame album. now i can't wait for The Fame Monster to come out. she changes the world with her vocals, fashion, and song writing. she is just an awesome person.
