Everything About Lady Gaga
If you haven't heard about Lady Gaga then it's likely you've been living under a rock. This young pop star burst onto the music charts in early 2008 and has been mastering the art of world domination ever since.
I have been writing about Lady Gaga since my daughter introduced me to her debut single - Just Dance. I've confessed previously to the fact that I was a 'mean mom' by finding Queen's Radio Gaga video for her on Youtube instead of Lady Gaga which I still think was pretty funny!

After playing that 'little prank' it took me a while to convince her (my daughter) that Stefani Germanotta (Lady Gaga's birth name) actually took her stage name from the song, but when she read it for herself she believed it.
Lady Gaga Mini Biography
A lot has been written about Lady Gaga since she hit our radio stations with her catchy music and our magazines with her eccentric fashion choices, but here's the basics on our native New Yorker known as Lady Gaga -
- Lady Gaga was born Stefani Germanotta in New York on March 20, 1986.
- Lady GaGa Learned to play the piano by ear at age 4.
- Lady GaGa wrote her first piano ballad at age 13.
- Lady GaGa played open mike nights at clubs around New York at age 14.
- Lady GaGa received early admission to Tisch School of Arts aged 17.
- Lady GaGa was signed by Interscope Records at age 20 and writing songs for other artists.
- Lady GaGa released her debut album - The Fame - aged 22.
Her 20s so far have been full of The Fame that she named her debut album for and not just because of her awesome vocal abilities, but also because of her fashion sense, tattoos and the fact that she speaks out against causes she believes in.Lady Gaga has really connected with her fans who she has lovingly dubbed her Little Monsters and even confessed on television just before Thanksgiving 2011 that her father has refused to change his phone number and so sometimes gets calls for her. When she happens to be home he'll hand her the phone saying its 'soandso' from 'someplace' and then she ends up talking to her 'fan'. Probably shouldn't have advertised that Lady Gaga as I foresee quite a number of extra phone calls now!
Lady Gaga Costume Ideas
Lady Gaga hooked me with her music that seemed to contain an 80s style to it (my favourite!), a great hook and was, well basically infectious. It's nearly impossible for me to hear one of her songs without tapping my foot or singing along or both.
However, the pop songstress has set herself apart from other pop Princesses by reinventing herself via her fashion choices in much the same way that Madonna did throughout her career. It will be interesting to see if her career is as long lasting as that Pop Madame.

Lady Gaga also has a number of tattoos some of which were done by celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. She loves using ink as an expression on her body and even had a tattoo put onto her thigh with the name of one of her albums - Born This Way.

Lady Gaga's Music
Lady Gaga is a very talented songwriter as well as an awesome songstress. Before she released her own music she was writing songs for other acts that included Britney Spears (she wrote Quicksand), Fergie (she wrote No Floods) and the Pussycat Dolls (she wrote Elevator), Lady Gaga also co wrote the song Full Service for the New Kids on the Block. Her songwriting credits are under her birthname - Stefani Germanotta - and not her stage name.
Her voice is amazing, she's a contralto with a vocal range of 2.5 octaves which is great. My hubby was very impressed when he heard her perform live on Australian television, before he had just heard her on the radio and while he thought her music was okay he hadn't realized how strong her voice actually was.
Lady Gaga herself has talked about bringing pop back and I think that's one of the reasons for her success - she has got the infectious beat spot on, every song has a hook in it and it can be danced to - what is not to like about that? Lady Gaga has won many music awards including the Grammys where she has learned how to make an entrance, check out her arrival at the 2011 Grammy's and more at - Lady Gaga at the Grammys.

Unlike a lot of albums Lady GaGa's The Fame
doesn't appear to have a few hit singles and lots of fillers, instead (rather like Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A.
album) all of the songs sound like they could stand on their own as singles in their own right. It is so refreshing to find an album where all of the songs seem to have their own hook.

Lady Gaga's Second Album
Lady Gaga's second album, The Fame Monster includes the hit singles Bad Romance (which I love) and Telephone (which also features Beyonce). This album has brought yet more comparisons with Madonna, but I think that that could be said of a number of female artists - let's face it Madonna was the Queen of Reinvention, who hasn't she influenced??
I was a little disappointed that this album also featured the tracks from her first album.......I could have just waited to buy this one, but never mind.

Lady Gaga's Influences
Lady Gaga credits her mother with her love of fashion, although she's quick to add that her mother prefers far more conservative clothing from Italian designers! She has also stated on several occasions that she considers Donatella Versace as her muse.When it comes to music she cites David Bowie, Queen, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper. It's hardly surprising to learn that with these influences she sees fashion and music as being interwined and she also uses her music videos as a creative outlook as well.
