Durham Lady Ballerz

 

 

Dear Potential Sponsor,
The Durham Lady Ballerz is a new nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that was started to provide opportunities for young girls, ages 9-16, around the Durham/RTP area.  We plan to help them develop their basketball skills, compete against some of the best female athletes in the country, while at the same time developing character and life skills.  While this is a new organization, many of our parents and coaches have several years' experience with organized basketball.

Our parents and coaches are committed to motivating, building confidence, and mentoring these young ladies so they will make the right choices in their everyday life, at home, at school, and when they are out with their friends.  Most of our board members and parents have been involved in other organizations for several years and are really excited about the new opportunities these girls now have. We plan to get them involved in more community service activities and we will make sure that each one of them are successful in school, even if it means getting them tutors.  Their success in school is the biggest measurement of our organization's success.

Your support is very important in all of this.  Without the support of our sponsors, many of these girls may not be able to participate in organized basketball.  Our goal is not to turn away any deserving young lady due to financial considerations.  Although we have begun fund-raising, we may not be able to raise all the funds needed for six teams.  It costs approximately $1,000.00 per year to support one girl in the Durham Lady Ballerz organization.  These funds will be used to cover cost of uniforms, travel, tournament fees, and gym rental for the teams.  With hard-working board members and dedicated parents, along with financial support from sponsors, I know this organization will be successful!

Contributions of basketball equipment (balls, bags, shoes, knee pads, coach's shirts, etc.) also welcomed.  The level of sponsorship will be determined by the estimated cost of contribution; and business/individual will receive same as monetary contributors.
