Tattoos For Women

Are you thinking about getting a ladybug tattoo? Since it is a permanent decision, getting a tattoo can be a pretty big deal! Finding a good artist and the perfect tattoo design can be somewhat tricky. Luckily, there are many beautiful tattoos for women available. Ladybug tattoos are a wonderful choice, and there are several different options available.

Feminine Tattoos

Tattoo Art

ladybug tattooMany women are afraid to get their first tattoo because the public has made them feel like it's not very "feminine". Only the "tough crowd, biker type" gets stuff like that, right? Contrary to seemingly popular belief - ABSOLUTELY NOT!

There are actually several feminine tattoos that would be a fun choice. One of the most popular tattoos for women (and temporary tattoos for younger girls!) is a ladybug tattoo. There's just something charming about the bright red little bug with black dots that attracts women of all ages to them.

One way to 'dress up' a design to look more feminine is to add flowers, hearts, stars, or swirls. Names of children or siblings, or favored deceased relatives can also be good additions to a ladybug tattoo design.

Sure - if the artwork is done right!

shelley xoxo says:

yes, definately, it's a very well detailed way to have an image placed on your body, that tells a story in a way..?

Thrinsdream says:

They are pieces of art no matter what the canvas! I am getting one this year.

Deanna says:

yah i think thar are sexy women and hot on men

Caitlin says:

i don't tink there is a problem with men or women getting tattoos. I am a woman in getting one because of my younger brother. If it's something with meaning and heart and you don't mind having it on your body then go for it! If you love it, it honestly doesn't matter what others think.

liz says:

yes

Nope - tattoos are gross!

miaponzo says:

I hate them on men and women. but especially women!

GrowWear says:

Well, not "gross," but tattoos on men or women always make me think that the day might come when they no longer like the permanence.

Tattoos With Meaning

ladybug tattoosAlthough not always the case, many people like to get a tattoo that has some kind of story or special meaning to the image. Whether it's a picture of a loved one, a memorable date, someone's initials, or even a favored event, it serves as a reminder of a special person or occasion.

Many people also consider ladybugs to be "lucky", so they believe that getting a ladybug tattoo would increase their chances of having or getting some good luck. Although that's probably never been proven to be a fact, if it makes the individual FEEL lucky, or special, that's the most important thing.

Tattoo Warning

It IS a personal choice, BUT...

Getting a tattoo is absolutely a personal choice, and although input from friends and family should be welcomed, an outsider's opinion should NOT be the deciding factor. YOU are the one that has to live with it - not them. It is advisable, however, to really think long and hard about it before 'taking the plunge'. If you're prone to making quick decisions, a tattoo probably isn't a good idea at all.

**Although it IS a personal choice, it's advisable NOT to get names of partners/spouses tattooed on your body. Tattoos are permanent - many relationships, unfortunately, are not. Be POSITIVE that your relationship is 100% solid before making that kind of commitment. Tattoo removal is a bigger pain than getting one done!

Tattoos ideas

One of the great things about ladybug tattoo designs, is the versatility of the design. Popular ladybug tattoo places for women are the back of the leg, ankle, lower back, hip, and wrist. CAUTION: The less fatty the area (such as the ankle/feet), the more it will hurt, and the longer it will take to heal.

One of the best ways to get ideas for your ladybug tattoo is to look through ladybug tattoo pictures. Whether online or in a tattoo parlor catalog. The ladybug tattoo pictures above are some of the favorites online!

Important things to remember

Pretty tattoos often come with a bit of "sticker shock" (they can be rather costly, depending on size and how many colors are used). But, an experienced tattoo artist with a steady hand will definitely be worth the money in the long run. Remember: You get what you pay for! But, if appropriate precautions are taken when considering a tattoo design, whether it's a ladybug tattoo or not, the pain to your body - and wallet - can be minimized.
  • Make sure you LOVE the design before getting it done! (Be sure to check out the "Tattoos For Women" link below for some great ideas!). You may even want to trace it carefully on the spot you intend to have it with a pen beforehand to make sure you love it.
  • Check out the tattoo parlor to make sure it's clean/sanitary. It goes without saying that you don't want to pick up illness from a dirty needle!
  • Ask to see the intended artist's work before getting it done to make sure they're capable of doing the design you want to your satisfaction. A more complicated design will need a more experienced tattoo artist.
  • In most states, children under 18 are NOT allowed in the tattoo parlor. Arrange for a babysitter if you need to.
  • Yes, it hurts (especially on feet!) Yes, you DO need to take care of your new tattoo according to the tattoo parlor's instructions. If you don't, you'll end up scarring, and your design will be messed up.
  • Although there IS pain involved, it's not bad enough that you have to take time off work, etc. (Pretty sure your boss wouldn't go for that, anyway! Just sayin'...) Usually, not even a pain reliever is necessary, unless your pain tolerance is pretty low.
