If you're going to go with a wig then Amazon have some great ones to choose from - long and short. You can also buy a hair bow that's ready just to clip on, no need to worry about creating the effect yourself!
If you do have long hair check out this youtube video, the instructions are really clear and straight forward. I've used the instructions to put my dd's hair in a bow (at her request btw) and they worked really well.

Let's look at the hair, well we all know that Lady Gaga enjoys wearing wigs so it's easy enough to grab a wig yourself. Long or short is the first decision, then you have to focus on the style.
If you want the Gaga bow, then I would recommend using your own hair, so if you've got short hair you should probably go for a different do - why? Well in order to get the bow you will need to make sure the hair is straight, preferably by using a straightener (personally I wouldn't try this on a wig). The next step is to style it and if you don't have a good quality wig this is where you can become unstuck.

Of course Lady Gaga is never predictable so she has worn a slightly brighter lipstick when she's gone for her exaggerated lips. The color looks like a plum color, but red would also work......outline the top lips where they make the shape like the top of a love heart and then follow them down from there onto her bottom lips effectively leaving the third of her lips on either side void of color. This effect looks rather like she's swallowed a lemon and is definitely not her best look, but it is very recognizable even though she didn't keep it for long.

Lady Gaga has made so many fashion statements you could wear nearly anything and get away with it, but probably her most recognizable early outfits would have to have been the body suit

Black Bodysuit
If you purchase a Black bodysuit or you already own one you need to team it up with a black jacket, black glove and long, blonde wig (or long blonde hair). A couple of chain necklaces around your waist and some dark wayfarers and you're done.
White Bodysuit
If you want to purchase a white bodysuit you'll need to wear it a little differently to the black one. Lady Gaga teams hers up with origami diamonds and a long blonde wig. The origami diamonds should be the same color as your body suit (you can use the same idea for a yellow body suit as well) and just on one shoulder. The easiest way to attach them would be with a hot glue gun.

Nude Bodysuit
There are three looks with this nude bodysuit.Team it up with a beige/taupe blazer, pearls, a large bag (if you can afford it a YSL Downtown bag is the one she normally wears, but just make sure it's a big bag if you can't handle YSL prices), Harry Potter inspired glasses and the blonde hair in a bow.
The second look is to team it up with a big pair of Wayfarers, a leather jacket, fishnet tights and a thick leather choker style necklace around the neck.
The third look is Lady Gaga's Purple Beehive look. Team the nude bodysuit with a white jacket (3/4 length arms), large purple framed sunglasses, high heels with the laces tied around and up her legs and the hair - what can I say? You'll need a wig and a hair piece for this look, basically add a long, straight, blonde wig and then assemble a purple beehive on top with the hair piece......I haven't quite worked out how to do this yet!
Red Bodysuit
If you buy a red bodysuit - team with a black belt, red gloves, a red hood, long blonde wig, large oversized wayfarers, long gold chain around her neck and red lipstick (understated eyes because you're not taking off those sunnies baby). False eyelashes, eyeliner, mascara and a very pale almost nude color of eyeshadow.

Using origami diamonds this look involves making a hair piece to wear in your long blonde hair/wig. Now let's look at how to put this Lady Gaga outfit together. The first step is deciding which color prom dress you want to use and then follow the tips below -
The White Dress

They also need to be attached to the side of the opposite waist and down to the bottom of the skirt and back across about half way. The diamonds should be made with white paper.

This was one of Lady Gaga's earlier costumes and really got tongues wagging when she appeared on German television. I loved the Muppets, but I'm not sure that wearing a cloak of kermits would suit me - it did raise her profile however and this costume makes it a lot easier to emulate the look than sewing lots of plush frogs together!!!
