The Lake of Ozarks is a large man-made reservoir created by impounding the Osage River in the northern part of the Ozarks in central Missouri.

Seasonable warm weather. A few snows and the cold days get in the 20's. Yet, it is common to get 50 degree days. This season is known for shopping with a lots of bargains to be found. Most family resorts close down but motels and condos

The ozarks burst into beautiful color as the dogwoods and redwoods come out on the Lake of Ozarks. The Dogwood Festival in April and the Lake Area Product and Service show in March are always popular. Anglers enjoy some of the best bass and crappie fishing anywhere. Local chambers of commerce host a wide variety of festivals that make each weekend enjoyable at Lake of Ozarks.

The lake jumps into full swing as all the sites to see and fun things to do open up for
the family vacations as they invade Lake of Ozarks. The weekends are exceptionally crowded as you will se many 3-5' waves.

Our favorite time of the year! Everything is still open, the weather is great !. Boating and fishing are still excellent and the golf courses take on a new beauty as the fall colors begin to change on Lake of Ozarks.

Did you know The Missouri General Assembly officially named it Lake Benton after the former Senator Thomas Hart Benton. None of the names took as it was popularly referred to by its location in the Ozarks.

Lake of the Ozarks Fishing Time:

The fishing season begins early on Lake of Ozarks, about January 1, and it ends late, December 31.
As the lake warms up topwater lures produce the explosive strikes that make grown men shake with excitement.
After the bass spawn, usually in late April or early May, the plastic worm begins to replace the crankbaits and surface lures on the business end of the fishing rod.
